    shrimp dumplings

I was walking through the Village looking for a place to eat with friends, and stumbled upon Chow Bar..At first glace, we thought it was going to be very expensive, however, we were pleasantly surprised. There were three of us and we ordered the Shrimp dumplings and Spare Ribs (Both phenominal, and recommended by our waitor) as well as the Chicken Chow Chow, and the Lobster Rice -- both good, but the chicken needed a little more seasoning. Def. order Saki by the bottle..You get more bang for your buck! Will def. be back!

    Worst Restaurant Ever

I've been moving around different countries in South America and different States in USA. Last night I went with my wife to this restaurant and received a treatment I never saw in any type of restaurants from the simplest ones in small villages to the most expensive ones in huge cosmopolitan cities like New York, Boston, New Orleans, São Paulo, Cali, Rio de Janeiro, etc .... As a researcher, I've been the last 4 years in New Haven at Yale University, you are requested to travel a lot and end up eating in restaurants quite often, so it is easy to evaluate what is an reasonable behavior and I can tell I never been so insulted in my entire life. My wife asked for tuna well done, and the waiter kept on questioning her over and over again in a sarcastic and aggressive manner if she was sure she wanted it well done, because "well done tuna is the one you get from the can mix with mayonnaise and put in the sandwich ... " and he kept on going. I had to ask for the bill even before start to drink the drnks we ordered and this same waiter had the nerve to ask me if I "was in the wrong place". We left insulted and infuriated but without losing our politeness a quality that is definitely not know in that place. So, I can say I DON'T RECOMMEND this place to any one.

    Chow down at CHOW!

I have been going to CHOW BAR for years and the food is always amazing! The only thing I really miss is the Sunday Champagne Brunch... BRING THAT BACK!! Plus Danielle is the most gorgeous hostess ever!

    Excellent food and service

I reserved a table for 8 for my friend's 30th birthday. Bob, the owner I believe, was incredibly kind and helpful. There was plenty of space for our party plus some last minute stragglers. The food was incredible, especially the Tuna Dish. Also, it is a MUST to order the fondue dessert. Well worth it! I would go here again in a heartbeat.

    Great Night Out

My wife and I landed in Chow Bar this weekend (Sat night) for dinner. We were excited to share a sampling of small and large plates. Chow Bar delivered! The vegetable dumplings were great (and plentiful-6 total). The spring rolls were OK but certainly fun. While the chicken and peanut noodle dish was just OK, the BBQ Pork Chow was out of this world. Our advice, stick to small plates and a Chow or two.

Great place for small plates & cocktails

I love Chow Bar as a place to get small plates and cocktails. Both are fantastic here. The restaurant has a great energy about it. We had several of the appetizers and loved each one we got. The tuna tartar special was amazing. The drinks are reasonably priced and very tasty as well.

Great place for a small party

Been going to Chow Bar for several years now (might be there more often if it were open for lunch but alas it is not). LAst night, eight of us from my office descended upon Chow Bar for a holiday dinner and enjoyed fabulous fare, attentive service and a great atmosphere. We ate our way through their wonderful calamari salad and spring roll apps, feasted on duck, prawns, spareribs and tuna all to the sounds of ahhhs throughout, and ended with some great deserts. I should also mention that the ginger cosmos and typoon drinks were given high marks as well. Great vib!
