    Great place, high quality cakes

I have been going to Choux for years, mainly because I love their beverage and cookies (specifically, the delicious coffee, green tea lattes, and 70-cent black-and-whites). What inspired me to write today was the AMAZING cake we ordered from Choux for my mom's birthday. We ordered the Mocha Cake one day in advance, and they made the cake no problem (not like over at Little Red Hen, but I'll save that story for another day). The cake was gorgeous, complete with fresh strawberry garnish, a quality layering of nuts, and a chocolate plaque dedicated to my mom's special day. OK, and the best part... the TASTE! The cake was delicious, rich, chocolate. Not this sugar/flour joke we Americans are so used to today. No, this cake tasted of rich hazelnut flour, high quality chocolate, and delicious mocha flavor. We were very satisfied (and we know our cakes at my home, trust me). So, if you want a good cake, order one over at Choux. The cake was $29 which may seem high depending where you are coming from) but the value is exquisite. Your paying for top-notch ingredients, nothing else. On a side note, if you are a student like me, it's not the best place to sit and study for hours because it gets really hot in there with the ovens on, the place is very small, and it's not particularly comfortable. Other than that, great service and great product. Two thumbs up!

    great for coffee and internet

I usually go there to pick up a lightly toasted croissant and a cup of coffee and they're both great! For a richer taste try the dark kona coffee (vs the smooth). They also have simple syrup which makes is much easier to mix sugar into coffee without it settling in the bottom. Their new setup has kind of a classroom like-feel but its definitely a great place to get some work done (free wireless internet) and have a good coffee. Def better than Starbucks and Dunkin nearby.

    Yummy desserts!

Best hot chocolate I've found in this area, and the cream puffs are absolutely delicious, my favorite is the coffee filling, though at $2.25 a piece is a tad expensive I thought. But I keep buying them - that's how good they are!

Great place during the week to do work

As an alternative to Starbucks, this place rocks. The food is good, it's quieter than your avg coffee house, and they offer free WIFI. :)

    so yummy

I had two cream puffs. One with vanilla custard one with strawberry. Both were delicious. I brought them home and ate them over 8 hours after I bought them and they were still delicious. There is sugar sprinkled on the top of the pastry that makes a sweet crunch coat. The custard is sooooooooo good. Yum! Good think I live no where near this place otherwise I'd be packing on pounds.

    New Wine in Old Bottles

I took the suggestion of a previous reviewer and had the "original" cream puff. It came out of the refrigiration case and the pastry was a bit rubbery. The fillin by contrast was excellent. So a 5 for filling and a 1 for pastry equals a 3. I'll go back when I know what the baking schedule is and try a fresh one.
