Puzzled
I'm a neighborhood resident and have been eating here for a few years. About a year ago they discontinued a special anniversay dinner that was such a bargain they couldn't continue it. But mostly, their food has bween fresh, tasty (the best seaweed salad in town) and the service pleasant. I cannot understand the negative revues, haven't been there for awhile and will need to go and test things soon myself.

Not recommended
Danger the sushi is not good. The salad tastes limp, and there is something wrong with the dressing. I was afraid to finish my meal. Beware.

Best Sushi in NYC
This is the best reasonably priced sushi in NYC. I go to Choshi 2-4 times a month. The waiters are friendly and helpful. The house salad is huge and the dressing is the best I have had. The spicy chsoshi roll and red dragon roll are the best. I highly recommend the restaurant.

Don't bother
The food at Sushi Choshi used to be good, but lately it has really gone downhill. The vegetable gyoza was soggy, limp and had a sour flavor. The miso soup was fine, but how hard is it to make miso soup? After my last visit I had decided that ordering the sushi here was dangerous (tasted like it was a few days old), but I was in a hurry today and the location was convenient so I thought veggie gyoza would be safe. I ended up throwing them out and just eating the soup. Also, I found the staff to be rude. This was the first time I received sub-standard service at this restaurant. They used to be very nice. Maybe this place is just another victim of a lousy economy - seems like they're cutting a lot of corners, which is the last thing I want from people preparing raw fish. I won't be going back any time soon.

fantastic neighborhood sushi
I absolutely love this place. I live in the area and often eat here 2-3 times a week. The fish is very fresh and salads are great. Highly recommend the Choshi roll and Spicy Shrimp roll.

Overrated!!
Wouldnt come back... over rated and over priced for what is it. Also the ginger dressing has an odd flavor. Big turnoff.

Waiters were excellent.
Went to Choshi just tonight for the first time, and had a fantastic experience. Sushi was reasonable priced, generous portions. Our waiter mixed up our order, but was extremely apologetic, and made it up to us with free mizo soup, salad, and green tea best service I have had in NY. Don't know what happened to all these people with bad service.
