Chola

What makes this place special than any other Indian restaurant is its quality of food, service, and courtesy to make such good food for such an amazing price. The Lunch buffet is the best, outrageous quantity, superior quality and just excellent food!

I love some Indian food but am very picky and easily turned off by certain smells, tastes, etc. I am also high-maintenance when it comes to service, due to my busy life and "special needs" when it comes to my strong food preferences and dislikes. Cholas fits the bill for me in every way, starting with the outstanding service, organization and cleanliness of the restaurant. I have been there three times and each time I felt like I was their only, VIP guest. The staff smiled and greeted me warmly from the time I walk in the door, my water glass is never empty and they care about whether or not I like the food I am eating, taking it away if I don't (very rare here), suggesting things I should try, etc. The food is amazing, with a variety of flavors prepared in a beautiful, sophisticated way. This is the kind of place I take friends and clients when I want to make a good impression.

Not sure I understand some of the negative reviews on here. The staff @ Chola was overwhelmingly accommodating, paid careful attention to a dairy allergy, and made sure our water glasses were always full. Although I am not an expert on Indian food, we really enjoyed our meal - And would absolutely recommend to others.

On a Tuesday evening I waited over an hour for delivery (mind you, I live one street and one avenue away from the restaurant). After calling for more information, I was rudely cut off by the woman who answered the phone and told "it's coming." While the delivery man was very pleasant when he finally arrived, when the food arrived it was already cold. Owners of Chola, you may want to make a greater attempt to please the members of the community who will help sustain your restaurant. I will not be ordering from here ever again.

Were not a picky group. But our experience warrants to be mentioned. First of all waiters were totally apathetic and rude. Our food took almost an hour too come out and when it did the the tandoori items were cold while the curry dishes were hot. After waiting for soo long the food had no flavor it was just oily with some chillies thrown in. We complained to no avail. Soo many better options in the city if not on the block.

I'm Indian and my family loves food so I might sound critical but it's for a reason. Some of the dishes at Chola are very good but some of them are just poorly made. There really wasn't anything at our dinner that was truly exceptional. Even the South Indian food at Chola was mediocre. I'm glad I tried it once, I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

I work near Chola and have been there 3 times now for the buffet during the week. Really enjoyed it each time. I thought it was a better quality than some other nearby buffets for about the same price. I would definitely go back. I don't know about the service - the waiters are kind of not around when we need the bill, but we're there for the buffet so we never really minded.
