Decent
I'm Indian and my family loves food so I might sound critical but it's for a reason. Some of the dishes at Chola are very good but some of them are just poorly made. There really wasn't anything at our dinner that was truly exceptional. Even the South Indian food at Chola was mediocre. I'm glad I tried it once, I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

Great weekday buffet
I work near Chola and have been there 3 times now for the buffet during the week. Really enjoyed it each time. I thought it was a better quality than some other nearby buffets for about the same price. I would definitely go back. I don't know about the service - the waiters are kind of not around when we need the bill, but we're there for the buffet so we never really minded.

Slightly above average Indian buffet
It is sad, indeed, if this is Manhattan's best Indian lunch buffet (which is how it was recommended to me). The selection is limited (one lamb curry, two chicken curries, and two or three vegetarian curries), the rice is fairly bland, as is the tandoori chicken, and the naan is surprisingly mediocre. But the curries are decent enough so I can't say I left the restaurant completely disappointed. I just expected a lot more. By US standards overall, this is somewhat above average Indian food. But is it really the best lunch buffet Manhattan can offer?

Disappointing: They Don't Care
Tried it a total of 3 times over the years. Every time worse. They just don;' think things through: the vegetarian part of the buffet might have a dal, a channa dish, and a potato dish. Now, who wants to eat jsut that and nothing with healthy vegetables? But when you point it out, or suggest they have a vegetable offering, like gobi or sag, they don't care. Bad bet.

Perfect meal but for cold plates
We had a wonderful meal, marred by having piping hot dishes served on ice cold plates. Why the disconnect?

delicious food
This is indian food at its best. It is located on a great block with nice NYC atmospere. It is a great place to meet with friends (full bar, great cocktails) for great quality indian food in a nice atmosphere.

If only the service was better.....
Romantic date with the most amazing man... The atmosphere was lovely, the food was tasty... Unfortunately the service was poor, the waiter was abrupt. Not a place to go if you want to impress...
