Our favorite sushi place in NYC
We followed the owner from Taste of Tokyo and it's the same great sushi in a less cramped environment. Love everyone there, the sushi chefs, the waiters-- they've worked together a long time and the food is fantastic. I don't know why the place isn't mobbed, it should be. They are also great to our kids who refuse to eat sushi anywhere else.Try it once and it will become your local place.

The BEST sushi place no one goes to
I just ate here again last night with my friend from out of town, who has me meet him at Cho Cho San every time he visits. I've eaten here easily 10+ times, not including when they were Taste of Toyko on 13th. BEST SPICY TUNA ROLL IN NYC. Hands down, no contest. It has extra tuna on top of the roll that is more tuna than a normal places spicy roll has, and no mayo. It's awesome. The all you can drink Sake for $10 is a steal and actually goes down smoothly. Service: It's excellent. They are really, really nice. Very attentive, and just genuinely kind people. Don't let the lack of crowd inside stop you. CHO CHO SAN IS GREAT.

this place rocks
this used to be the old Taste of Tokyo - but new and improved! The back room is very nicely done and they have a few new dishes to compliment the former standout's notable "spicy tuna rolls". The Chef's Special, and the rolls such as Wall Street, Mexican, etc are all delicious. The sushi pieces are sized appropriately and for the price it's a great deal. Only challenge has been alerting former fans of its new location on 8th street, where it can get lost among the shoe stores and other random hole in the wall restaurants. Great for takeout or dine-in! This is our go-to sushi joint during the week when you have a craving but don't want to spend $$$$.

Love this place
My wife and I eat here at least once if not twice a week. Always a great place to relax after a long day. Love the chefs specials. spicy tuna salad is kick a$$. Service is attentive and friendly with out being pushy. Fish is super fresh - I would put quality up there with Tomoe.

Great delivery!
I've been going to Taste of Tokyo for years (and Cho Cho San recently...) and finally got delivery the other night. The food arrived within half an hour, was totally fresh and delicious. Very happy with the delivery service!

Hip Hip Hooray!
Taste of Tokyo used to be one of my favorite places from which to order delivery. The spicy tuna rolls are generously topped with mounds of tuna and it is delicious! I stopped by for dinner last night and new spot is definitely 'hipper' than the old one. The servers are all really nice but I think they're still working out the logistics of the timing of bringing out the different courses.
