I couldn't live without Chirping Chicken! I hate to cook, and I am watching what I eat. 1/4 chicken, a baked sweet potato (yum!) and a small salad from Chirping Chicken is one of the most satisfying meals I can find in the neighborhood, and really helps me stick to my food program. The chicken is always moist and salty and hot, really the best around. I have found the salads to be fresh and cold and really good. Delivery is always super fast. One of the best deals on the Upper West Side. If they ever closed I would be destitute!

I have ordered CC over 50 times. Chicken Souvlaki is superb as well as the Gyro platter. Some times the fries get a little soggy in the foam container. Mozz sticks are the best. Hamburgers are good too. Pass on the nuggets go for the tenders instead.

We are very picky eaters. In the UWS- a desert devoid of good food, we have found an oasis in the Chirper. Of course it's not haute cuisine. It's just good ol' fashion good food that is not too greasy or msg-laden like every other delivery restaurant here. The chicken caesar salad is very good and light. The gyro sandwich is fantabulous, and I don't ever eat lamb otherwise. The service is really amazing. If they forget a sauce that you ask for extras for, they will send someone right back just for you. Try it!

I went here because of the glowing reviews and came out disappointed. The service was very brusque; I had to ask for the lunch specials menu twice before they'd give it to me even though there was no other customer in the store. Overall, I wasn't that impressed by my quarter chicken special. The chicken was quite moist and flavourful as said by other reviewers, but I found several pinkish spots in my quarter piece. The salad they give you as a side is poor--it's drenched in greasy but tasteless Italian dressing, the lettuce was really old and damaged, and the peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers didn't look too great either. The amount of fries they gave me was impressive--but way too much for one person to eat, so I'd recommend getting rice instead.

If there was one restaurant I would have choose from everyday for the rest of my life, the Chirping Chicken would be my choice hands down. The chicken breast or grilled whole chicken are both excellent foundations to the solid sides. Don't forget to ask for honey mustard or BBQ sauce with your order too. No matter how busy they are, they always deliver fast or get you out the door quickly. Top notch ingredients and no skimping on the food - quality and freshness are both tops. The only caveat would be this place is not for those who need to be pampered to eat out. Its the perfect place to eat at and people watch for those who come to appreciate the hustle of NY. If you take out, be careful not to get the fries as they do get soggy in the foam containers. If you do get it to go, rest assured that they have packaging down to a science.

I actually haven't had Chirping Chicken since Christmas when I was back home in New York for the holidays. I now live in London - I have to proclaim that Chirping Chx is the best fast food place I've even been to in my life. It is understood that it is difficult to compare grilled chicken (chicken nuggets are actually the best item on the menu) to say pizza, or doner kebabs, or hot dogs, but my view is that Chirping Chicken is so good, the quality of food transcends genre. I love how soft and warm the pita bread is, I love how the chicken has a hint of lemon in it, I love how crisp and tender the chicken nuggets are - with the very sweet BBQ sauce on the side. The gyro is also extraordinary and is comparable to top doner kebab places in Berlin and London. The only bit that isn't always top-notch are the French Fries - if you eat them at the store, they are terrific, if not, they can be soggy due to the styrofoam container. Haven't tried the Astoria branch or the Upper East Side one yet, but I'll be back in New York in a few weeks to represent West Side...

The chicken here is indeed fantastic- so flavorful! The souvlaki is also good, and so is the hamburger. I think there might be a little msg in the chicken, but that's a problem I have at most restaurants.
