Me likes it
I ordered from this restaurant the other day, and I really enjoyed the food. I had the coriander chicken with pesto sauce, and it was GREAT. First of all, the portions of the entree serving are adequate enough where you can have it for both lunch and dinner. More importantly, unlike typcial Chinese food, it was not greasy at all. On the recommendation of a previous reviewer, I tried the cheesecake roll and it was to die for. I have a new HEALTHIER favorite for my neighborhood. I would highly recommend!!

terrible delivery
delivery guy showed up claiming he had no change for twenty dollar bills. felt like a scam for a big tip. their spicy lemon coriander soup tasted like bland, watered down lemon juice and the basil chicken was just 2nd rate thai food. the worst delivery experience i've had in years.

Tasteless Chinese Delivery
I really wanted to like this place. The concept is great, and I love spicy food. I ordered from them once. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. There was no taste to is, and even the "spicy" dishes we ordered weren't the least bit spicy. Maybe I'll try them again, but I'll go in person so I can tell them the food has no flavor if it comes out that way.

Don't waste your time
I had been excited when I saw this place opening because I heard good things about the other location and I love spicy food. Ordered take-out and I was totally disappointed. The food had pretty much no flavor at all! It wasn't spicy, it wasn't bad, it just didn't taste like much of anything. For the price (more than your typical fast food asian place) I expected a lot more out of it. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from them again.

Great food as always
I've eaten at the Murray hill location, so I knew what the food was going to be like. I haven't visited this location but ordered in twice, and both times, I've had no complaints. The gobi manchurian is good, the mirch 65 is out of this world (if you love spicy food), and the chilli chicken and manchurian entrees are yummmm.

One of best options in a restaurant wasteland
The minute I see a new eatery in the gustatory wasteland in the east 90s I'm ready to give it a shot. Chinese Mirch is a tiny hole in the wall surrounded by the horrendous 2nd Avenue construction. It seems clean and I can't recall if you can eat in, but it was a rainy Friday last night and I ordered in. The service was fine but the food was even better. Chinese Merch serves food that is Asian fusion, Chinese as it is served in Mumbai. I tried the pan fried momos (dumplings). They were tasty with a delicious sauce. The hot and sour soup was good -- I liked the vegetables -- they weren't your usual slop. The dry chili lamb Szechuan was pretty good, although I thought the pieces could have been a bit meatier. I will try another entree next time. It was still a tastier dish than most of the restaurants serve in this 'hood, though. The seasoning was well spiced. For dessert, I had the rasmalai, which are ricotta cheese dumplings soaked in cardamom flavored milk. They were totally yummy and not too sweet, which in my book is a plus. Anyway, I will be calling Chinese Merch again. The food hit the spot and is more exotic and spicy than all the other nearby places, and that includes lower Spanish Harlem. The place may be a bit small to have a comfy dining experience but it's a much needed addition to 2nd Avenue. Now if they only stay open a bit later, I'll be addicted.
