It's incredible: as soon as I hang up my phone, the delivery guy is at my door. Service is crazy fast, prices are average (not too high but not too low either because its not crap food), and the food is good quality. I hate the greasy squirrel-meat Chinese food restaurants this one is not like that at all. Very good. Highly recommended. It's the only Chinese place I order from I'm about to right now! :)

I'm pretty open to trying new places as long as they'll deliver up here, and I have. China Town East is definitely the best Chinese take out available on the UES, and their General Tso's chicken (although not the best I've had) is the best in the area. The price is fair, and the delivery is always faster than expected. The only complaint I have is their hot and sour soup isn't always consistant. I'm not sure if their chef changed or what, but their new version lacks the full flavor like....it's missing the "hot", and it seems to be a crap shoot now.

Living on 99th street it is really hard to find chinese restaurants that will deliver here, apart from the greasy hole-in-the-wall types. The food at Chinatown East is definitely above the bar in this light. The food is tasty but not too authentic. It is a great value though, and delivery is very fast. Recommended, especially if you live in the upper 90's to lower 100's.

I usually order sushi takeout from Chinatown East. I think the sushi is good and it's by far the best deal you're going to find, especially if you're feeding a few people.

Good entrees with large portions...sometimes need to ask for it a little spicy. Fast service. However, the sushi is just not very good.

I love Chinatown East. You can get chinese food, sushi and bubble tea and they are all decent. I ordered take out to feed a party of six family style and we all comfortably ate for 47 dollars. I highly reccomend the scallion chicken. The sauce is a little creepy and gelatinous, but it's delicious and the chicken is fried katsu style- yum. Our order was up in 15 minutes, and when I order one dish for myself, it's usually ready in five.

Chinese food can be very hit or miss. On the Upper Eastside rest assured Chinatown East will deliver. While I haven't tasted their entire menu, you won't go wrong with favorites like the Sesame Chicken. I highly recommend their takeout.
