Awesome beef lomein and sesame chicken

Went there twice for eating in had their awesome beef lomein lunch special for 5 bucks incl drink my friend had their sesame chicken and devoured it. Atmosphere is more cafeteria like but food is awesome. Great delivery place. Good soups - hot n sour and egg drop. Overall great value and great food.

    Great neighborhood chinese/sushi

I order in or take out from chinatown east at least once a week, I have dined in several timesas well as take out, , and the food was very good, as long as you know what dishes are good, the value you get is great, as far as sushi goes, spicy tuna, salmon roll and yellowtail are very good, have not tried others, and it s always fresh. dishes i have had and recommend, include sweet and sour chicken, moo shu chicken, with plum sauce , general tsos, and chow fun, the restaurant is clean and waiters are great, atmoshere is plain, best to sit by the window.

    Not that good

After reading the reviews I thought i would give it a try. Not impressed. The lady on the phone was nice and the delivery was pretty fast. But the food tasted subpar. Too bad. Tastes like those generic cheap chinese restaurants in the hood. Maybe some of there stuff is good but not what i got... steamed dumplings. General tso's tofu. The sushi was better but also tasted like some thing you would eat at one of those all you can eat buffets.

    Consitently Great Lunches

I Eat here atleast twice a week and have always enjoyed the food immensely. The sushi is fresh and not "over riced", the portions on the daily special are MASSIVE (more food if you deliver than if you eat there) and the service is warm and quick. I highly recommend Chinatown for lunch, however I have yet to eat dinner there.

    Suprisingly good sushi

I order from here a lot. I usually order their americanized chinese food, which is pretty decent. This is the only place that has good bubble tea around here. If you never had one before, you have to try it. I recently discovered that they have pretty good sushi too, cheap and fresh. The atmosphere is not that great, plastic chairs, but the food makes up for it. Overall, really good value for the food.

    Best on UES

After moving to the UES almost a year ago, I made it my mission to find the best chinese restaurant, based on value, healthy options, locations etc., and i have to say after my thorough research, Chinatown East is the winner. They have the best steamed dumplings around and even a vegetarian menu. I've only gotten take-out, and the food is always ready by the time i get there (usually about 5 minutes after i call). Plus, when i'm in the mood for sushi, they've got that too (admittedly, it's not the best quality, but it's more than decent and it's so freakin' cheap!).

Not as good as you think

This restaurant is not that bad if American Chinese food is what ur looking for. However, they put too much MSG in food, and the taste is far from the better Chinese food on Mott street. Don't expect very fast deliver. I live in the next block and it takes 40 minutes for the food to arrive.
