Was good
Unfortunately we found out last weekend that the China Regency Restaurant is closed. Most New Yorker's would know this, but this former New Yorker only makes to NYC once yearly. There was a good value, taste, etc., and the restaurant will be difficult to replace without venturing into Chinatown.

Used to be good
I used to go here all the time. Good food, good service, good value. Well I went the other day and all of a sudden prices went up, they do not include a spring roll with the lunch special anymore and the service was no good. I dont know what happened. The food came out all all different times, never got our drinks, etc.

Stay Away
I had been here a few times a while back and the food was never particularly good, but it was at least serviceable. On this last visit, the quality of the dishes have severely gone down. And unfortunately, the service was disappointing. It took forever to get served. And to add insult to injury, the waiter was quite rude when we mentioned that we had been waiting quite a long time.

Tasty
If you can't make it down to Chinatown this will hit the spot It's 's not the best Chinese food in this town but it is tasty and a good value - the shrimp rolls are delish - I even ordered TWO !! Also had pork lo mein and shrimp with cashews both good and my friend had the shrimp with walnuts that she enjoyed - I'll go back

Great value for Midtown
We went to the China Regency before a show at Radio City - just a few blocks away. Offers a combo of Chinese and Japanese so everyone was happy. Good food and great value for the money. Fast service.

Wonderful value
We originally found this place about 8 years ago on our first trip to NY and have been back every time since. Our hotel originally told us it was casual. It isn't - it's actually pretty scruffy. But the food is outstanding, served with a smile and is amazing value for money. I had the scallops in black bean sauce, my wife had a chicken dish. Both were perfectly cooked, with the vegetables beautifully crisp. Charming people, great food and a cheap but hugely enjoyable meal.

Delicious Chinese in a Lovely Area
I have NO idea of what the bad reviews are about, but take it from a person who's been eating there and enjoying it ever since 1997--IT'S GOOD! I've eaten at China Regency various times on NYC vacations beginning in '97, and the food, service, and pricing is excellent for the quality you get. My most recent meal there was on a trip in March 2007 where I ordered the very good Tai-Chien chicken and my Mother ordered the Beef with Mushrooms. Both dishes were made expertly and spiced just perfect! The shrimp roll that I had as my appetizer was the best I've ever tasted and even the condiments served--duck sauce and hot mustard--were lip-smacking good, being alternately pungent, hot, and sweet. They practically served as a bonus free appetizer as I kept dipping the complimentary crunchy noodles into the sauces, as it was so delicious! The atmosphere is all right, not incredibly fancy or anything, but clean, attractive, and spacious. The service is quite attentive and courteous, and to cap it all off, you even get a free plate of fresh, juicy oranges to finish what has been a scrumptious meal. Bottom line: check China Regency out! In my opinion, it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in the city.
