Love China New Star
My family loves the food from this restaurant. When they come back to Brooklyn for a visit, we always order from here. We have never been disappointed. We have been to the restaurant a few times and have always been treated VERY WELL. As for the delivery, I have no idea how they delivery so fast.

Faux pancakes
Actually, I love this restaurant and have been coming for several years. However, I was truly disappointed when I ordered Moo Shu Chicken and got store bought wraps with it, not the real Chinese pancakes or crepes made from scratch. Since this was the first time I ordered this dish here, I don't know if it comes this way all the time or not. Other than that, the food is terrific!

Not worth it
Girls at front end rude and aloof. Prices are a little high and food is average at best but service makes you want to go elsewhere. Lot of other choices in neighborhood.

Good Chinese Food
Food is very good, prices are fair - not overpriced and not cheap. Take out service is questionable - takes a long time (on a Friday or Saturday evening it is a good hour wait for delivery) and the last time I ordered they sent the wrong dish twice! I finally told them to just forget it - but they did not refund my money, they issued a credit for my next order. I was not pleased with that.

China New Star is amazing.
This is the best Chinese food ive ever had. It's literally one of the reasons I still live in new York it's so damn good. It is a little pricey tho

Bigger is not always better!
The portions on the combo plates are huge. The quality is not so great. Eggroll wasn't good, had the special wonton soup, a few fresh veggies like snow pea pods, and lots of broccoli, canned gross mushrooms, and tons of bok choy (canned i think). Broth was oversalty and just not good. The shrimp were large and good quality howere. The sesame chicken was white meat and enjoyable but deep fried in lots of batter. The waiter was rude. When I asked a question he gave me a dirty look and didn't want to answer me. Will not return, there's gotta be a better place in the hood. Whatever happened to Joy Teang and Mah jong?

The best Chinese food anywhere!
My family and I have been going to China New Star since they opened and were a small take-out place in the early 1980s. We watched them grow into a restaurant, and then into the much larger restaurant that it is today. The food at China New Star is second to none, including Chinatown. They have the best fried rice, eggrolls (NEVER greasy), and lo mein. They also have some specialties of the house which are very tasty, and of high quality including filet mignon. Everything tastes terrific, consistently for close to 30 years. China New Star will also make you anything you want even if it is not on the menu. This includes their combination plates...they will really make any dish into a combination plate and charge accordingly (a very reasonable price). Service is also excellent. When dining in the restaurant, service is fast and friendly, yet we never feel rushed. For delivery (usually what we get), it is also very fast. The longest we had to ever wait for a delivery from them was 45 minutes, and that was in a HUGE snowstorm. Yes, they deliver in all sorts of weather! Overall, China New Star is outstanding. Fantastic prices, fast and friendly efficient service, consistently excellent food!
