I know the family that owns the place and they are very sweet and hard workers.Moon House on third avenue use to be China Moon on first avenue and they have change too much. When China Moon first opened the food was great, but due to hard times the quality of the food went down. Now that they have moved and are having better days their food is great again. The restaurant is beautiful and I strongly suggest that people. Try this place out, please do not listen to the earlier reviews because that does not depict how it is now.

So glad we found this place for delicious and affordable sushi above 96th street! Currently there's a great 3 rolls for $12 deal that includes some great stuff (spicy, crunchy rolls, christmas rolls, etc.) as well as reasonably prices special rolls (relative to other places) for those that want something a bit more exciting. Most importantly the fish is fresh and delicious. We haven't dabbled too much into the chinese cuisine, just a few vegetable and noodle dishes here and there, but we're hooked on the sushi!

Fresh delicious sushi unlike the other places in the area. Chinese food is flavorful and not greasy at all. Delicious!

Like I said the Sushi here is Great!!! I haven't tried the Chinese food here but I've tried a lot of the Sushi Rolls and they are all amazing. It's usually empty and I'm guessing its because the people around this neighborhood aren't really open to eating Sushi. I've tried looking for Sushi places on the Upper East Side and the places I've tried were not good at all. Horrible actually! When I found out this was just a block away from where I live I was excited to try it out. I am truly thrilled that this place is here. This place so far has the best Sushi I've ever tried and I've tried a lot of places in the city and in the Bronx. If you go to this place hope you like!! Enjoy!

The owners come from China Moon which was on 100st and 1st avenue. I was saddened when I found out that they moved, but when I found them, I wasn't the least disappointed! Not only have they upgraded their space, but their menu as well. I can actually taste real shrimp in the steamed shrimp dumplings and the sushi bar was an excellent addition. The only downfall for them is that they have a limit on cards which is actually not allowed by credit card companies. Other than that, I approve and recommend! Nice little spot to stop in for lunch.

This is a great place for takeout, eating there, and having a party! I order from here about once a week. I always get a pork bun and spicy tuna! Its a great value for a sushi place! They are always so sweet when you go. I even got a free salad the other day for telling them how much i loved them. I'm not saying you would always get a free salad, but it just shows how sweet they are! Some of the other negative comments imply that this place was opened before Fall 2009...it was not...its amazing and wonderful, so get over it nay sayers!! Sushi and Chinese are both GREAT!!

My friend who has made assumptions about the sushi without even trying it is sadly mistaken, and totally missing out! The sushi here is the BEST thing they offer!!! Their fish is ALWAYS fresh, and their sushi chef takes his time, in an effort to prepare a 5 star meal for you! And you can't beat it for the price. I was so surprised at how delicious, fresh and innovative their rolls were. And on top of the awesome food- the owners and staff are very sweet and accomodating. There is plenty of room to sit (I had my birthday party here, with a crowd of 15 people... all of whom were ASTOUNDED that my little neighborhood joint blew all the sushi they had ever had in this city completely out of the water). The regular chinese food is also very good- but I haven't ventured too far away from the sushi, as it really is THAT AWESOME! XOXOX MOON HOUSE!
