Slow and not good
Ordered over the phone for what I thought would be a fast pickup. It took much longer and when I entered the store I was attacked by the lady at the counter. When I finally got home with the food (across the street from me) everything was cold. Up to this point I am still keeping my cool. Then I tasted the soup. It actually tasted like watered down leftover soup. The chicken was like a piece of rubber and the rice was partly overcooked and partly undercook - they must have mixed 2 batches to complete me order.

Great Chinese Food Take Out
This is my favorite Chinese take out on the west side. I've tried all of them, and there are a couple ones that have slightly better food, but they are 3x the price. You can't get better value out there. Delivery is usually 20 minutes, and I live a good 8 minute walk away. General Tso's lunch special... can't be beat! Not a place to eat in though, no atmosphere...

Used to Be Good...
This was always my go to chinese takeout, with reliable food, decent prices, and fast delivery. I recently went for a lunch special, and besides getting the order wrong, the quality of the food has really slipped, and the nice girls at the counter are no longer there. What a disappointment, need to find another spot for Chinese takeout.

Not recommended
Poorest customer service ever. They showed up 1.5 hrs late - called twice to check on food and got hung up on both times. Do not ever go here... ever

Oily Leftover Food!
The food is not tasty and extremely oily. A few times I have ordered the half chicken with shrimps fried rice and would only get plain fried rice. Recently, I placed the same order, took it home and again realized that there were no shrimps. When I called the restaurant and complained I was told that they can't do anything for that. Instead, they were extremely rude to the point of yelling. I definitely will not order from this restaurant again. There are other chinese restaurants in the neighborhood that serve much more delicious and fresh food than China Gourmet whose food tastes like leftovers.

Good Eats
Fresh food, generous portions, good soup, very quick (but brusque) service, xlnt price. This is my #1 place to eat for a quick lunch in the area. If you don't like oil, get it steamed. You won't be disappointed.
