As I eat and type this review on China Fun I must be honest... I'm not having that much fun. It's a good time and all, however "fun" is not how I would describe my sesame chicken and fried rice. As a sesame chicken coinauesser, I take this review very seriously. Not much effort was put into my dish. Half of my dish is sesame seeds and the sauce is a tad bootleg with a sprinkle of not so good powder. The head chef should take a look at his roots and understand what the creators of China Fun had in mind when they first developed this resturant / state of mind. This resturant still has much room for improvement so don't give up on them just yet.

Looking at some of the dishes on the tables, we were safe to stick with our chicken and broccoli offered at lunch for $5. The dinner menu is much more expensive. As for the service, the will rudely stand over you the minute you take your last bite. As soon as you stand up they swoop down and begin cleaning as you put your coat on. For this reason my husband likes to HAVE SUM FUN by just sitting there for ten minutes more while they stand by in agony.

This is one of the only chinese places in NYC that when it delivers... the food is still hot, and its NOT greasy. The lomein and fried rice are the best I have tasted in the city.

The food is ok, nothing stellar but always dependable. The service in general is fine, can't complain too much, pretty speedy delivery. The real problem is their communication skills, they need someone who can speak english not only understand it, at the end of an order instead of asking them to repeat it all, I pray they send me anything at all.

My wife and I love this place. We don't even live in the neighborhood, but we usually go to the Equinox gym on 63rd and Lex on Saturday mornings (we have an all access membership) just so we can have brunch here after our workouts. Good, cheap Chinese food! Great scallion pancakes or try the steamed vegetable big bun or steamed vegetable dumplings for tasty, healthier options!
