Chin Chin has consistently set the bar high for upscale Chinese. The food is high quality and the service is outstanding. Very professional and courteous staff. Extremely attentive without being intrusive. A very comfortable and pleasant experience. And given the prices of many NYC restaurants, the cost of most steak houses for example, it is comparatively very reasonable.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in New York City, If you go you must try the Grand Marnier Shrimp.

Seriously I was so pumped up to have a great dinner with my friends and family but their service was sooo below my expectations!! First of all we waited almost an hour an a half for our three small dumplings as an appetizer. Then, the waiter was beginning to rush and ended up dropping his plates and having broken glass all over the floor -.- After this, they brought in the main course nd dropped the bowl of rice right on the table. We literally asked for refills three times and still there was no sign of them. Aside all of that, when the waiter finally decided to bring the drinks over, he held the glass right from the top where we are supposed to drink from!! What is that? Onto the cake part.... After we finished having some cake, we asked them to pack up the rest for us to take home. There was literally a whole layer of cake left but when we got home we noticed that they only packed half of it and it was practically all sugary fondant! They didn't even acknowledge any of the guests in the private room we were in, but instead focused on the other guests. Along with all of this poor service, the bill was extremely high! Almost $2,000 for something that did not make me happy. One thing for sure is that I'm not returning here for another meal.

Have been going there on Christmas for the last few years, but just had a horrendous experience. Service was practically nonexistent. Understand that this is a very busy day for them, but still the waiter ignored us totally until I had to flag them down, and even then proceeded to barely acknowledge us. They clearly overbooked, and then were winging it, and many customers were angry. Its too bad, because the food is generally very good.

I have frequented Chin Chin for years and have been disappointed in the last few visits. My recent dining experience there was poor. It was simply too warm to enjoy my meal and I noticed other diners fanning themselves. The staff pretended to remedy the situation but they kept the A/C on a very low setting- maybe saving electricity or something but it was not pleasant.

Liked the place and ate there occasionally years ago. It was expensive then and the service was impeccable. Old memories took us back. Way overpriced, un-courteous staff down from maitre'd. Menu said jumbo shrimp but medium shrimp were served:$ 29.95. Not returning, definitely!
