Very good, down to earth Thai place

I tried this Hell's Kitchen hole in the wall after having a bad experience in with another nearby Thai place. I fell in love the first day and have been going back ever since. The first day I walked in, I knew there was something different going on when I heard Delta Blues playing on the house hifi. The place is small but smartly decorated--it's got a good vibe. Service is friendly and attentive. Most importantly, the food is clean and fresh and cheap. The lunch specials are a tremendous value; I love the Kwey Tiew Kau. Try it, you'll like it.

    eat this thai food

I have tried every thai place in the neighborhood, and this place is by far the best. Their panang curry is amazing, and it comes really spicy (although I am sure they can make it less so). They have a lunch special that includes a spring roll and salad for only 5.95 that is served til 4pm. They also only have a 10 dollar delivery minimum. I love this place, and have recommended it to others who share my enthusiasm.

    Excellent find

I tried the lunch special one day in August and fell in love with this place. Came back with my wife for dinner a few days later and she loved it too (she's not normally into Thai). The ingredients are fresh, the food is cooked with care and it shows in the final product. The service is smart and friendly, and kudos to the decorator for making a very small space work. A nice addition to Hell's Kitchen. Bravo.

    Best Thai Food Ever!

I lived in Thailand for 5 years, and boy this place takes me back. They have dishes on the menu I've searched for high and low and couldn't find in America. Their prices are phenomenal--Seeda Thai on 50th, another tasty find, charges on average $2-3 more PER DISH, and charges for "extras" like brown rice ($2!). The food at Chili Thai is spectacular, and any savings on space or decor certainly translate onto the cost of the plate. The owners will remember who you are even if you've only been in once, and make you feel at home every time! They're applying for a liquor liscence, so hop in while it's still BYO!

    Spectacular Thai in Hell's Kitchen

Wow! The food was outstanding, the service, warm and friendly. We were treated like old friends. This family-run treasure is a rare find in NYC where the food and the price is right. The Pad See Ew is delicious. The Mango Dumplings, divine! Especially with the coconut ice cream. Just BYOB. It's tiny, but the seats are strategically placed, so it's not cramped. We'll be going back again and again.

It feels like Thailand - In my belly!

Great food, great price, very friendly people! I will definately eat there again. Casual dining for sure, not a hot date spot. I would paint the walls a different color. . .

    I Loved This Restaurant

i went there with my aunts and i couldnt belive how good it was. i read a review in time out new york and thought it was worth a try. the first attempt was a sunday brunch before attending 110 in the shade but it wasnt open. you shouldnt go eat there until 7 because parking is a bad problem. the kitchen is open to where you eat and everything is kept amazingly clean. i had a shrimp salad that was to die for and there mango desert couldnt have been better. there is no bathroom. NY THAI AT ITS FINEST!!
