    Not Consistent....

After eating a nice dinner here, my boyfriend and I decided to return for a nice weekend lunch. We were very disappointed. The pad ke mao with beef had a few scraps of beef and was not fresh. The duck in tamarind sauce was mostly skin and not that great and the portion of duck was quite small. I had ordered the sampler appetizer before, but decided just to order the dumplings. It's $7 for 4 tiny dumplings...not worth it. We won't be returning.

    Excellent!

We dined here tonight and will definitely go back. The waitress was a delight, portions quite large, and the food was absolutely delicious. The spices can get hot, so if you want medium, you may want to ask for mild, which was the case in one of our diners curry dishes. The kitchen made it milder and it was delicious. For 3 diners with the sampler appetizer, 3 meals and 2 desserts, the bill came to $49.10. Yes, you read that right - 3 meals under $50. Great value!

best consistent thai in the area

There are on days and off days sometimes at chili thai, but it is always pretty decent and the average food there is better than at most of the other places I've tried around the neighborhood. The service is great and the people are super nice. They will always accommodate spice preference and will actually make it spicy enough if you ask, even if you're white.

    awesome thai food

me and my husband spent 5 days in NYC last week. Chili thai was awesome, awesome, awesome! The restaurant doesn't look upscale or fantasy from the outside, but the taste of the food and the service is upscale!!! highly recommended.

    Relatively Good

Not too bad considering some of the other thai food I've had in nyc...

Was my favorite before 2 months ago

I am probably the biggest fan of Chili Thai and so I'm sad that over the last 2 months, they keep making my soup wrong. I think they got someone new in the kitchen. They're a great little place but the Tom Kha soup isn't what it once was.

    Awesome Food Great Value

Although it is small. Chili Thai packs a punch w/taste, value and service. Our group of ten received excellent service. The portions are great especially for the price. My only suggestion was that they crank the ac on a hot day like today! I love the open air atmosphere on a pretty day but the experience would have been a 5.0 w/a liiitle more AC. The hostess was fantastic, friendly, and happy to give suggestions to anyone not familiar w/ Thai Food. I had the Massaman Curry w/chicken and was highly impressed. Next time I want to try the Mango Pastry desert!! Four and a half stars well deserved!
