subpar service
I went for brunch on a Sunday afternoon with 5 other friends expecting great food and service, unfortunately we experienced the slowest service in the Slope. There were only 2 other tables besides ours and everything took extra long to get to us. We waited at least 30 minutes for our food. After we had finished eating our food, they brought us the guacamole and tortillas that went with our meals. I would not go back there.

Nice spot on the slope
Quite cozy little place they have there. We were taken to the back of the restaurant (at first it seemed like a really small place). And the back is just as others have described it, quite quaint and lovely romantic were the words the missus used. Although, the service wasn't exactly the fastest, it seemed to go with the relaxed atmosphere of the place, it seemed that we could just take our time and not be hurried out of the place as it has happened in other places. And the food was great, really tasty ceviche, and a wonderful mole. I wouldn't mind going there again.

It was okay...
I was excited to try some Oaxacan style cuisine but this tasted like any other Mexican food in New York - bad and bland. It's a whole in the wall so it's a bit claustrophic.

big dining area in back/food is wonderfu
I just read a review that this place only seats 12. That is not at all true. There is a dining room in the back, and it is absolutely gorgeous. The food is wonderful, and it has became my favorite place. The mole is great, the chicken enchiladas are truly addicting. Everyone loves this place, and the back is romantic. I go on Sat night, w/ my husband a few times a month.

cute but forgettable
This place is extremely small. It can accomodate maybe 12 people. I went for lunch and only had "botanos" which are tapa or appetizer like dishes. The roasted corn was the star. The rest of the 4 dishes we had were "so-so." I was considering going back some day for their signature moles or platillos but is it really worth the effort? Nah.

Your Specialty Must be Great, Or Else...
I was pretty excited to try this new restaraunt out. I love Mole, and finally a restaraunt dedicated to it! Well, after my first meal (which cost nearly $60 for two without any wine) I am extremely disappointed. The Mole was simply terrible. There was no complexity, balance or spice to what is supposed to be the bittersweet, spicy nature of Mole, (to be honest it tasted like soil. I don't say this to be insulting, only that it is the closest flavor I could associate) and it added nothing to the dry chicken and canned refried beans that I was served along with the sauce. To be fair, I tried only one of their three types of Mole, and the other two might fare better, but I will not be back to try them. If it weren't for the prices I would probably give it a shot, but I'm done. The quality of the food is less than average, the service is polite but inattentive, and the dining area is pretty, but uncomfortable. If you want great mole, for now, grab some recipies and try it yourself. Even if you mess it up, it can only be as bad as theirs, and it will be significantly more fun.

my new favorite restaurant
this truly is my new favorite place. I had a friend from Montauk visiting, and he loved it as well, and he is a chef at a very well know restaurant. Everything was incrdible. I had steak, and an appetizer of shrimp serveci-i have been dreaming about it. I ordered take out there 2 x since. Also, they have a back dining room which is sooo perfect for a date. It reminded me of one of those wonderful eateried in Paris. I know many people in the area, and it seems as if we all found out new favorite. The chicken enchladas are amazing, and EVERYTHING IS HOMEMADE.
