we just sort of chose this as our default when we first moved to the area although there are at least 5 other sushi spots in the vicinity. when chikurin closed for renovations a few months ago, we tried the other restaurants for our sushi fix and were seriously disappointed. we had assumed that because the sushi here was the cheapest in the area, that it might also be of poorer quality, but this turned out not to be the case. in fact, the fish at chikurin is by far the most fresh, the roll selection the most varied, and the service is awesome, and we always get comped on our second and/or third sake when we eat-in. plus, the delivery is fast and spot-on.

I avoided this place for a while, because I didn't like what I ordered. But I tried it again recently and everything was great and it really is a terrific deal. You won't be disappointed!

A lot of sushi chains have opened up around Kings Highway over the years but I’ve always found myself going back to Chikurin. It’s a cozy restaurant, not as spacious as some of the newer chains, but my friends and I enjoy coming here because the sushi is fresh, the staff is really friendly, and frankly, $2.50 for a regular roll is a really really good deal.

The Sushi here is really bland. And about half the time, if you order regular salmon, smoked salmon is in its place.
