I had a bad run of dining experiences in New York for a while, so it was refreshing to find a place that was really good. I had the lemon shrimp risotto. Shrimp was light and cooked to perfection, risotto was creamy. Prices are a little to expensive, but I think its worth it once and a while.

This is a really nice-looking place, but for the prices they charge for the small amount of food they give you, it's not worth it. I've been here twice because I liked the way it looked inside and I wasn't paying for it but I wouldn't go back again, because it's not a good value.

What a surprise! I stumbled upon this restaurant . We had a fabulous meal. The people were fun and the food was some of the best I've ever had. My friend had crabcakes and I had the fried chicken. We argued over who had ordered the better meal. I will not make another trip to NYC without a visit to Chez Josephine!

Went last night with my wife after theatre. It was a great experience. The service was impecable and we were extremely lucky to have Carlos take care of us. The food is excellent and the ambiance and service cannot be beaten. For a final treat Angela Lansbury came in for dinner later at night and sat a couple of tables away from us. It's funny. It was our 20th wedding anniversary, we were celebrating there, we never told the owner or Carlos that we were there for that, yet we were treated as if they knew. That sums up the type of place this is. Thank you!

Went here on Saturday night for my mother's birthday. I have to say, I really wasn't expecting much (not sure why) but we were so pleasantly surprised. We were greeted at the door by the owner, who was so gracious and sweet and we were seated immediately (our reservation was for 6pm). Our waiter, Ryan, asked if we had theater tickets, and we did not and not once did he rush us through our meal, which was greatly appreciated. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, you do get the feeling you are in a Paris bistro. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. The staff was very attentive and our waiter Ryan was such a pleasure and took the time to an swer all our questions and treated us like VIPs. Because you are made to feel so comfortable, we began chatting with the table next to us who were from out of town and so sweet- they loved their meals as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant- so much fun and a great experience for my mom's birthday! Thank you Jean Claude, Ryan, and the staff for a great meal!

I went w/my bf for valentine's and we had the fixed price menu which included a great selection of 3 course meal and dessert w/ the choice of tea or coffee and extra cookies. I do recommend the ravioli filled with lobster and I had the crab cake for starters. For the main meal the fish was out of this world!! Everything was delicious and we were more than full before dessert. The service was exceptional and the waiter was very attentive. We even got a beautifull postcard and a valentine's cookie ( was very yummy!) before we left. I absolutely recommend it for any romantic couple to go and spend a nice evening in a different place! It will make you feel that you are in Paris. They also had live singing with a piano...go!

When you enter this gem it is like you have gone back in time. The atmosphere is very old world, and Jean-Claude makes you feel like it is Paris in the 30's. The food is superb. I love the Endive salad. The Lamb chops, the Filet Mignon, everything is spectacular. Be sure to ask about the specials since they always have something wonderful. For dessert make sure to try the Delice Josephine. GO ! You will not be disappointed.
