Good food & value
Went there with my 16 year old and her friends at their request. I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the service. Everything was freshly made and these were some of the best fajitas I've had...our server was attentive and fast. The other pleasant surprise was the amount of food for the money...definitely a bargain in Manhattan!

Not recommended
Tortilla chips deep fried and dripping in really rank oil. Ordered vegetable fajitas for $16.99. Was given a portion of grilled veggies, 1 carrot, 6 green beans, 3 slices of courgette and some strips of onion nothing else at all with it. Tasted bland had no spices or flavouring! Partner ordered steak tacos $16.49. You had to search to find any steak, Was dripping in grease and was such a small portion it wouldnt feed a small child. Ladies loo was dirty. Loo roll everywhere **** up the walls, no locks on doors and flush not working in some. The most disappointing restaurant I have ever been to, avoid!

Locals eat here
When a longtime Manhattan dweller is willing to travel to Times Square to eat a meal, she/he is headed for well-known upscale destination or FRESH, authentic Tex-Mex. They call it Cajun-Mex. Whatever. Yes, it is a large, capacious space and tourists make their way there and can be offputting. There are quiter corners to be found. But it is without a doubt, the best and freshest Mexican food in Manhattan. You can pay a GREAT DEAL more and not get the quality. Fresh every day. Take it from a "local." Have eaten here for years and never received a bad meal.

Place is lousy
Right in Times Square. Place was crowded raucous with seedy people and the food and service was not good! Love NY but Chevy's is Cheezy!

Don't overlook this Times Square spot!
Every true New Yorker DREADS the chain-tourist trap-get me out of here Times Square restaurant, but...despite it's seedy location, Chevy's does a great job! I signed up for their free on-line club and get these super amazing coupon deals that you have to try out. We reccommend sitting upstairs in the booths in the main area. It's much more comfortable than downstairs or in the stuffy rooms upstairs. You'll be amazed at the size of the portions - no need for an appetizer because they give you an amazing fresh basket of tortilla chips and salsa. Try it, you'll like it.
