I had tried Chelsea Thai once before and remembered it as being completely unmemorable. I was in the market a couple of weeks ago and had a hankering for Thai food. I was hesitant because I remembered my last experience there. It was busy with a constant stream of customers so I figured it had to be good, maybe even improved. I was wrong. That place has to be serving the blandest Thai food in NYC! It didn't have any of the complexity that Thai food has. For less money I could have had a lunch special at any of the dozens of Thai restaurants in the city and it would have been far better.

I order from many places in Chelsea market and most are very expensive but the food is amazing so ok I ordered soup that was close to $7.00 it was in a tiny container of what tasted like coconut sugar water small amount of tough dry chicken and some mushrooms nothing else - it was so sweet I ended up throwing it away Oh and no noodles like most thai places add Other great places to eat -never again

I've had better Thai in Union Square. I went to Chelsea Thai bc of rave reviews, but when I tried the food I could not figure out the hype. I doubt I will eat there again if. If I am craving Thai I will hop on the L and go to Union Square.

What a little gem! Very helpful Thai lady at the counter. Fast service, the cook waved at us after we started eating and when we gave him a thumb up, he "Wei " us ! Food was very tasty and just the right amount of spice. Love the iced Thai tea, even bought a package from the store!

I've been eating here for a couple years now and I've had my share of Thai food (i have the belly to prove it).,It's a great place. Staff is friendly, food is fast. They make traditional Thai dishes that you can't find at "run of the mill" Thai restaurants. They really have the best peanut sauce EVER! Everyone should give this place a shot.

It's good but cash only and new prices make it not worth it.

My family and I have been ordering, eating there, and having food delivered for over 3 years. The food has been alright and since the location in convient for fast food. We always order from there for Thai. The service doesn't even deserve one star. The guy working there is so rude. I went and picked up my order and had something else delivered to the house. I paid and tipped. Half an hour later I get a phone call from telling me the delivery guy came back. "No one is home and come pick up your food" and hung up on me. I called back and he did exactly the same. I couldn't even get a word in and he hung up. I went back to the restaurant just to walk into him giving me a nasty look and threw the food at me. I told him who ever's mistake it is, he should never talk to anyone like that. Especially a customer that has been going there that long. He told me to get out. There are so many Thai places in the meatpacking district. With service like that I would not waste my money.
