    Poor delivery

Ordered breakfast meal, very simple and quick to make. 45minutes passed and I called to check where the order was. The guy who answered the phone was rude and told me the order was leaving soon, they were busy, and then hung up.

    Poor delivery

An hour wait, cold food.... Stay away from the delivery!

    Loved all about it

I don't expect "finesse" from a diner, so I was more than happy with our first time at CSR. The food was very good and there was enough of it. The service was even better. And they make a mean Long Island Iced Tea. Plus location location location! Will be back.

    Great place.

I've eaten here dozens of times. The French toast is great. It is a great diner, I've thoroughly enjoyed nearly every visit here. The broiled chopped sirloin is gigantic and has been cooked perfectly every time. For simple tastes, this place consistently does the trick.

    Disappointing diner

After two tries I have to say this is one of the worse diners I've been to in NYC. Food looks as if it was carelessly thrown onto the plate. No finesse, everything looked sloppy and unappetizing. Salad was a messy pile of lettuce with a huge glob of tasteless dressing slapped in the middle. A simple grilled cheese was cut into two sloppy rectangles and tasted like bunt butter. Mash potatoes weren't good. Spaghetti and hamburger were mediocre at best. Do yourself a favor and try the diner across the street. The only thing this place has is the huge windows, otherwise I think it would be gone by now.

    management issues

There's a recent new manager at the restaurant who claims he's been with the restaurant for 35 years. He now requires the waiters to charge for the containers used for "food to go". An additional $.90 cents was added to our dinner bill because we were taking soome food home. When we questioned the charge, he said we now have to pay for the containers. I don't know how long The Chelsea Square Diner" has been in existence but I've been living in Chelsea for 45 years and have been going to the diner for at least that long. This manager was there for about a week and immediately lost my friend and myself as customers. Believe me, we won't be the only ones not coming back.

    Attention!

OK, people, listen up. Your typical NY diner (and this is one of them) is good for exactly two things. Burgers and Breakfast. Period. That's it. If you start delving into the salmon filet, the turkey croquettes, the amusing daily specials, you will more than likely be disappointed. Try to remember that it isn't Wolfgang Puck working the line back there and you'll be OK.
