Chelsea Pierre Loti

I returned for my second meal at Pierre Loti West and I have to say that it was awesome, and was inspired to add a review. Awesome appetizers worth eating again, like the Chelsea salad- diced tomatoes, cucumbers and spices- and entree of fillet of striped bass-cooked to perfection. Good date night place, warm atmosphere and bonus is BYOB

I've been to this restaurant twice since it opened. After my most recent visit, I have no plans to ever return. There were numerous problems.......1st, the service was pretty bad the entire time which was even less excusable given that there were only 2 other people dining in the restaurant while me and my 2 friends were there. It took the waiter 10-15 minutes to ask for our order and only after I waved him down. It took over 1 hour for our entrees to arrive at the table.....does it take 1 hour to grill a chicken kabob and a piece of fish? When my friend's fish arrived, the waiter spent a good 5 minutes cutting it open on the table next to ours and deboning it. We were all sitting there watching him and thinking "What on earth is this guy doing?". My appetizer was a stuffed grilled calamari dish which I think was around $12. Besides a few pieces of lettuce, there were 3 of the tiniest pieces of calamari I've ever seen on the plate....literally 1/2 an inch or so long.....and that was it for $12. I was in shock looking at this plate and tried to savor each my 3 bites but that didn't really work. Otherwise, my entree, the chicken kabob, was very salty.....as was the tiny side of couscous that I ordered (which cost $6).

Absolutely divine! Cannot recommend Pierre Loti West highly enough. The eggplant appetizer with tofu tempura was to die for. So good that I ate the whole thing, despite being allergic to tofu! The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere wonderfully cozy and romantic, and every bite is surprising and delicious. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. My party of four each ordered different things (the scallops, the vegetarian special, the striped bass, and the filet) and we all left stuffed and happy. Even the chopped salad was fabulous and original. So to sum up: YUM!

This restaurant opened last week and it's definitely going to become a neighborhood staple. I came here with a couple of friends and we had a feast! For starters we had the grilled asparagus with truffle sauce, grilled sardines, fluke ceviche and tofu tempura with eggplant - each was better than the next! For entrees the sea scallops with pea veloute and the striped bass really stood out, but the filet mignon and grilled whole fish were also exceptional. For dessert, the Turkish coffee creme brulee is a must! There was also a really interesting frozen mango parfait type dish that will be great on a hot summer's evening.

I had the pleasure eating at this new restaurant the other night. It was absolutely delicious. The dishes were full of flavor. I highly recommend the scallops. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff is very friendly. I will definitely be returning to sample some other items on the menu soon.
