Chelsea Grill of Hell's Kitchen
Posted by haworthhoarder on 09/20/2010
We narrowed down our dinner choice for after a Circle Line evening cruise to the Chelsea Grill and the Landmark Tavern. Ninth Ave. in the 40's is now a mecca for small, reasonably priced eateries. The Chelsea served up a great dinner for the two of us, the waitress was friendly, and we walked out with a $30 bill. We would definitely recommend this place and go again. It's within easy walking distance to the Theater District too.

This is a great little restaurant, with excellent service, excellent food and excellent prices! It's also close to times square for an evening stroll.

I had eaten at 'Chelsea Grill several months ago and enjoyed my meal as did my friend. I called to make a reservation the other day and I was told they take your credit card number and if you do not show up they charge the card $20.00 !!!!! I have never heard of such a thing, I will not be going back to Chelsea Grill anytime soon. As stated earlier I did enjoy the food but I do not like this policy.

I never eat in NYC without checking this site, and I always write reviews. Found this place here and didn't realize they serve a great brunch with reduced price drinks. My son had the hungry man breakfast which came with 3 eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, and potatoes. He doesn't always like restaurant pancakes, but he said Chelsea's were the best he ever had. I'm not what made the breakfast potatoes so crisp, grease-free, and tasty, but these alone were worth the trip here for brunch. I ordered the calamari salad, and it was a treat. The calamari could have been a little crisper and less greasy, but the romaine was fresh and crisp.

Went there a while back and in typical fashion we were late for a show, ordered anyway. Got our food quickly but still didn't have time to finish. Didn't want to take food with us to theater, what to do? They offered to hold it for us and reseat us when we got back. When we got back, they said sorry, we threw it out, no worries we'll just get it for you again! Fantastic! All with a big smile. Might have been that girl Lauren another reviewer metioned. I will be back and back and...

Great restaurant, but with so many choices in Hell's Kitchen what makes this a stand out is the service. We always ask for Lauren, talk about turning the world on with her smile! She makes my family and I feel so at home and comfortable every time we arrive (as she does to any person who walks through the door).
