Been here a couple of times, never had good food. Burger is bland, the bacon looked like it was three days old and literally crumbled to dust when I picked it up to inspect it. fries were unappetizing. Food is overpriced, I've gotten diner food around that area that was better. too many good places to eat at in that neighborhood to waste your money at this one. Skip.

So my boyfriend and I were walking down ninth avenue and we've heard great things about Chelsea Grill, so decided to stop in and see for ourselves... Let's put it this way everything we heard was true, even though it was packed we were seated by a lovely girl at the front door and immediately greeted by our waitress who was on great and on top of everything throughout the meal. We had the pork chop and meatloaf which I have to say were phenomenal. This place is legit and we will be returning and recommending to all. Thanks for a great experience!

I can't generalize and say that the service is always poor at the Chelsea Grill, but it was particularly disappointing on my last visit. How can a waitress leave dirty dishes from the appetizer course on the table after she serves the entrees? She dropped food and ran without asking if anything else was needed, and something important WAS missing at each course. The table next to us had the same problem, and according to other reviews, the service seems to be a major problem at this restaurant. I remember a time when people were lined up on 9th Avenue waiting to get into this place. Now, you can walk right in and be seated any time, any day. I guess most diners aren't willing to take bad attitude and indifference with their waffle fries any more.

Great place. Good and generous portions. Fast and friendly service for an area that is loaded with restaurants. Would definitely go back again.

I have been to the Chelsea Grill twice, and they won't have the chance to charm me with a third visit, mainly because the service is atrocious. The food is not bad, although you can get better at any of a dozen spots within a 3 block radius. i don't mind paying a premium if the food is worth it....but it isn't, and the hostesses seem to specialize in making guests feel like they're doing them a favor by allowing them to dine there.....service is S....L....O....W....so plan on spending at least an hour and a half on that burger and fries. On my second visit, I took a date- it was crowded, and we were led to a REALLY crappy table next to the busing station/kitchen entrance- there was a better table nearby, and I asked quite nicely if we couldn't sit there instead, and received a curt "no" in response. We didn't stick around for dinner. No way will I patronize an establishment that doesn't care if the customers are satisfied. Overall rating on a scale of 1-10? 2. Food= mediocre and overpriced Service= poor
