Greasy, below average delivery. I threw most of it away. Maybe I ordered poorly, but I thought I'd chosen fairly basic and safe dishes.

OK...I've tried almost every Chinese place that delivers on the UES, and this one is the best. That's in terms of food taste, food quality, service, quick delivery, getting the order right, consistency AND the atmosphere of the restaurant itself. Just try it and you won't be disappointed, even in person, since the restaurant is really nice (not a hole in the wall).

Loved this place. Went with a large group and was seated right away. The appetizers came out quickly and while the main dish took a little longer the quality made up for it. Everyone loved the dish they got and nothing was greasy like Chinese food normally is. Great sit in Chinese restaurant!

The food is wonderful. Absolutely if you enjoy prawns get their specialty Prawns in Grande Man. Sauce. Also a common dish pork egg foo young is not common anymore. The sauce is great. Ask the waiter for recommendations. Also try the Peking Duck...

I work in the area and come here about once a month for lunch. I really enjoy the food here, yet there have been some problems. I think that they changed chefs, and my standard dish came out completely different. When I requested it the way that I have gotten it a dozen times before, the waitress was extraordinarily rude. I am torn between wanting decent Chinese and having a stressful meal. I raved about the food here, so I brought my husband on a weekend. He refuses to go back because it just wasn't a nice experience.

I tried Chef Ho's based on reading the reviews here -- had previously thought of it as "just another neighborhood Chinese place." I find the telephone answerers uniformly pleasant and courteous; don't think they've gotten an order wrong and the food is really way above average. I probably order about once a week now. Ever since Golden Woks (on the corner of 87th and First) has been closed -- going on a few years now, I didn't have an everyday Chinese take out place, but this is it... I've been very pleased. My only complaint is that the delivery does take time -- I would say on average 30 gto 45 minutes so don't order if you're in a hurry. They'll supply free chopsticks, too, if you ask.

Delicious, fresh, Chinese food, some of the best. Slow service though.
