Chef Ho's has been a staple in excellent Chinese dining in the upper East side (their original location was 86 St. on 3rd) for many years. The prices are more than reasonable and the menu items, though the names may sound familiar, are NOT your typical greasy, fast food turn around take-out kitchens. I strongly recommend: Hunan Dumplings (spicey). Fried Dumplings. Pork Lo Mein. Shredded Pork in Garlic sauce.

Here's a recap from our dinner: Peking duck was COLD and was not that great...the pancakes that came with it was COLD and cracking and disgusting!!! The yang chow fried rice was decent and so was the green beans. Service: POOR POOR POOR unless you are a regular. Regulars get treated like a king. Overall , not coming back .

Poor and rude service, appetizers lacked substance (no scallion in the scallion pancake), and the main courses came out cold. Took 20 minutes to get a check and pay. Would not recommend.

My roommate and I get this 2-3x a week. Tastes awesome, comes with green tea, rice and a fortune cookie, and is pretty healthy for you. Highly recommended.

the best apatizer (minced chicken w/spicy sauce and lettuce) is really good, but only serves two. The beef, however serves a couple and is one of the things i recomend .i also recomend one of the "specials", ho's shrimp

I've been ordering from Chef Ho's since i moved to the Upper East Side in July 06. I've tried other chinese restaurants and while Lilly's maybe faster, no one compares to the food i recieve from Ho's. Always flexible if i want to switch out rice for steamed watercress and they didn't charge me extra! it's really the best moo sho pork i've ever had and they will make it spicy for me upon request!!! Very friendly and fast delivery, i highly reccomend for anyone in the East 80's. I've never eaten in, only delivered but value and quality is certain.

Walked inside and were asked how many in our party. There were two of us, and there were definitely a couple tables empty and cleaned... but they didn't seat us for almost 10 minutes! We almost walked out, but were hungry so decided to stay. Nothing about the meal was memorable. Ordered fried dumplings for an app, but they were pretty doughy. Main meals were just ordinary as far as chinese food goes. Don't think we'll be going back.
