I don't have to go to Chinatown!
As a native New Yorker, who has lived in Manhattan, Queens, and Long Island, I've tried many Manhattan and Metro area Chinese restaurants. Some of the best food and prices can be found in Flushing, Queens and the nicest sit down places in Manhattan. I usually make the hike down to Joe's Shanghai in Chinatown to or another one of the great restaurants down there where one can find great atmosphere and food at reasonable prices. But now that I live on the UES only a few blocks from Chef Ho's, I don't have to make the hike. Their food is amazing, the restaurant is clean and elegant, and their prices are excellent. You'll find good service there as well. I'd definitely place it in my top five Chinese restaurant list: Chef Ho's on the UES, Joe's Shanghai n Chinatown, Tung Shing House in Queens, and Orchid on Long Island. Oh and that terrific place across Broadway from Lincoln Center on the UWS. I can't remember the name. But without a doubt, Chef Ho's wins for Best Chinese on the UES and Top Three in Manhattan.

The Best
Chef ho's has the best chinese food on the upper east side. it's a nice place so you dont have to worry about what's really in your food and it's not overpriced. everything is good, the scallion pancakes, the chicken lo mein, the beef with broccoli...all made to perfection!

Best Ever
Chef Ho's is the best Chinese food in all of New York City. Their Sesame Chicken is so tender, and doesn't have a thick batter on top. The service is exceptional, and delivery is quick and efficient. I am so lucky to live close to this gem of a place!

Best Chicken and Cashew ever!
Chef Ho's got the best Chicken and Cashew anywhere around. Usually when you get this dish from other places, they give you tons of other veggies. At Chef Ho's, they only give you chicken and cashews and the chicken is so tender and juicy. You must try this dish.

Some Good Non-Greasy Chinese Food
I love my junk chinese food every now and then, BUT not many carry duck. However, when ordering from here I got the opposite of the regulare greasy fried fare. Chef Ho's is great if you want Peking Duck at home. They pack it nicely for you with tons of the "brown sauce" on the side. Their appetizer mix is good, not great, but good, I don't particularily like the fried mysterious doughy stuff, or the triangular seafood piece. They lady who answers the phone is nice enough and can understand your order. Delivery for me, 7 blocks away is quick, I have no complaints. price is ok. Never actually been there (could change my review). Try this place over you Great____ insert cliche name chinese restaurants that litter the UES.

Slow delivery
The food is good but unless you had a snack beforehand you will starve waiting for it.

Tso's not recommended, Best Peking duck
Plain and simply very poor general tso's chicken. Had to return the first order and the 2nd order was not much better. Peking duck is always wonderful though.
