Tried this place because of Small Business Saturday, after having avoided it for over a decade as it was too expensive. Ordered for takeout shrimp lo mein, a simple dish for $10.95 which is bit high. Nothing special, skimped on ingredients missed any mushrooms or scallions, piling on shaved carrots instead. A few bean sprouts and oh yeah, the shrimp. Medium sized, average quantity. However, they were way way beyond mushy…almost wet powdery!!!! Strangely, there was no rancid taste or smell. I’m no connoisseur but shrimp even after being overcooked should be resilient or at worst tough. What could Chef Ho have done to these poor little crustaceans? Did he boil the critters too long before pan frying? When you’re not even supposed to boil them? Did he nuke’em too long after taking them out of the freezer? I’ve never had mashed potato style shrimp in a noodle dish or any dish for that matter. Even more strange, there was a long line for tables on this Saturday night

The food is always satisfying, I especially love the chicken with broccoli! Decor can be refurbished but still a great atmosphere. The owners are very friendly and conversational-they greet me every week when I come for dinner.

I ordered wonton soup and NO wontons arrived in the soup! I called 2x to tell them they forgot them at which point the manager and hostess hung up on me. The nerve of them to hang up the phone on me and argue with me over this - I wasn't asking for money back.

Ate here with a family member in town and promised to show her some delicious NY chinese food. Our server was very unfriendly throughout the entire meal and the restaurant was fairly empty. He seemed annoyed by even having to take our order and by us ordering more things throughout the meal. The food was fine (peeking duck, bok choy, mushroom and bean curd dish) but the vegetables (buddah's delight) we ordered were dripping in sauce that tasted like it was straight out of a can. Disappointed and would probably never go back.

After reading all the good reviews, we ordered several items from here. unfortunately, not one had any taste...the bbq spareribs didn't have any of that sweet, sticky sauce on it...it was just bone dry, tough meat. the fried rice was doused in soy sauce, and the entrees were completely flavorless. just not good at all, so we hope to find a better place on the ues next time we're in the mood for chinese.

I've been eating at Chef Ho's for 20+ years. Every dish is superb, great atmosphere, friendly and accommodating staff, amazing owners/management. I take all of my friends and family there when they come in from out of town. Great delivery service too.
