This place is a hidden gem! It is defiantly not the fanciest place but if you want to go somewhere where the food is on point, this is the place to go. It's not Americanized Italian cooking its authentic Italian cooking. Delicious! Bon appetite

Chef Andrea is delicious, if you haven't tried it you need to. Staff is great and CHef Andrea will come out of the kitchen and chat with you. Best food in the neighborhood.

Hands down, top notch Italian Food in the old 'hood. There may be places that are more 'showy' with a staff of 50 and a chef that greets you with a kiss and makes believe he knows you, but this place is not like that. The staff is normally 2 hard working polite young men, the chef is actually in the kitchen preparing your meal, and yes he sometimes gets annoyed. But you come here for the food, and the food IS good. If you want ambiance go to the city and overpay for chicken scarpiello. I advise EVERYONE to at least try Chef Andrea's. Go with an open mind, it's a small place and spaghetti and meatballs is NOT on the menu. But his glorious artichokes with gorgonzola sauce and crispy spinach is, and if he has a few veal chops let him grill one up for you with spicy peppers. ANd soon enough Andrea will come down from the kitchen and maybe have a glass of wine with you...or just nod. Either way you'll eat well. Guaranteed.

We had a big family affair here. For the price, the food was mediocre, the service slow and the atmosphere crowded. We heard good things about the restaurant before this so it was an even bigger disappointment. Apparently the food quality depends on the chef's mood on any particular day. If you are paying good money you do not need anyone's attitude. Obviously, we will not be back. Our free advice, Stay away.

we had the arugula salad with pignoli, spadini with lemon sauce and capers, rigatoni and boccancini with eggplants onions and ricotta, with chianti and for dessert cappuccino with italian cheesecake. All to die for. Generous portions, delightful service, chef was extremely friendly and came to talk to us. Very Brooklyn Italian atmosphere with the other patrons--love it! We will make the trip out from Manhattan again for this place! On a par with Roberto's reataurant in the Bronx.

I was out on a date with my husband and it was going great until my husband went to talk to the chef. My husband is a really friendly person so he went up to the chef to talk to him about how good the food was and stuff like that and all of a sudden the chef got really nasty toward my husband, we were in shock because we had no idea what ticked him off, it was really weird and uncomfortable. I will definitely not be going back to that place.
