    Disappointing Christmas eve

We had a big family affair here. For the price, the food was mediocre, the service slow and the atmosphere crowded. We heard good things about the restaurant before this so it was an even bigger disappointment. Apparently the food quality depends on the chef's mood on any particular day. If you are paying good money you do not need anyone's attitude. Obviously, we will not be back. Our free advice, Stay away.

    fantastic restaurant

we had the arugula salad with pignoli, spadini with lemon sauce and capers, rigatoni and boccancini with eggplants onions and ricotta, with chianti and for dessert cappuccino with italian cheesecake. All to die for. Generous portions, delightful service, chef was extremely friendly and came to talk to us. Very Brooklyn Italian atmosphere with the other patrons--love it! We will make the trip out from Manhattan again for this place! On a par with Roberto's reataurant in the Bronx.

Food is great. Chef was very rude.

I was out on a date with my husband and it was going great until my husband went to talk to the chef. My husband is a really friendly person so he went up to the chef to talk to him about how good the food was and stuff like that and all of a sudden the chef got really nasty toward my husband, we were in shock because we had no idea what ticked him off, it was really weird and uncomfortable. I will definitely not be going back to that place.

    Hands down best Italian food

Absolutely the best Italian food you can find! Authentic as they come...yes there are other fine restaurants, but Chef Andrea is a true artist in his kitchen.

Charming little hole in the wall!

We happened across this charming little restaurant by googling for something to eat in the area (we are not local). We were so pleased to come across this small local Italian restaurant with great attentive service. Linguine with eggplant, onions and ricotta, veal parmigiana and spaghetti with marinara sauce were outstanding. The mussels and clams were a little lacking, but the angel hair spaghetti and the spicy red sauce they were in were great. Don't miss it - it's a tiny place with a table out front with a basket of bread on it - worth a little trip to get there........

Everything I ordered was not available

Everything I ordered was not available. I ordered a salad with goat cheese and pignoli nuts. They brought out a salad with fake mozzarella cheese, and walnuts. When I asked about the salad, I was told they didntchave pignoli nuts or goat cheese. So instead of asking me, they substituted on their own. For dinner I ordered tuna. Ten minutes later he came back to tell me, so sorry we have no tuna. I then ordered swordfish. I asked that it be prepared the way the tuna was supposed to be, and was told no because he didn't have rice! So I ordered the swordfish with vegetables. Again the waiter came over and said he did not have swordfish. I could not believe it. I said ok give me the "special" pappadelle with bolognese sauce. I get my dish and they gave me rigatoni. Bi said the dish was with pappadelle. I was told oh some people like rigatoni. The wine was like wAter! I will never go back.

    Not what we expected

Ordered the "crispy" chicken pieces with artichokes. We were served thick rubber cutlets swimming in what tasted like canned beef gravy. The baked clams were "huge" and chewy. Although the portions were generous and the waiter very attentive we barely finished. We obviously came on an off night because this place came highly recommended by friends. Don't think we will go back.
