Awesome food; service eager to please
Great comfort food (as in, one sandwich has weekly caloric supply of a small African village), overwhelming portion sizes. Now we just order one entree for the two of us and a side of veggies, no appetizer. Awesome onion rings and catfish po boys (w/so much dressing that I recommend you get it grilled, not fried). Grilled cheese sandwich is also great (made with 3 kinds of cheese, no less). Service is spotty (like orders taken and brought with a really long interval and not always exactly what you order), but always eager to please. Last time we were there around closing and the manager needed us to move tables so that workers could take out the garbage. I could not believe how much he apologized in addition to forgiving about half of our bill. Basically, this one of those places for great food and cooky atmosphere. Definitely go.

Nostalgia
If you're looking for down right comfort food with a casual vibe this is the place. Most of the service are young college age crowd, so you get that youthful vibe with its staff and customers. Call it a "better diner". You can feel the age from the stickiness or "grease" on the table surface. The nostalgic signs, and prints on the wall. My friend I ordered both the cod fish po boy. Mine with vegetables, which you can tell came straight out of a can, and he some fries. The portions were indeed overwhelming, and enough for my lunch tomorrow. Overall it's an easy choice with comforting food.

Comfy
My gals & I love coming to this place... to literally chat & chew. There is usually a line, but once your name is down you are seated quickly. If you are lucky you'll spot a celebrity chowing down as well. Cute decor, attentive wait staff & delightful food keep us coming back. Thanksgiving on a roll is great but prepare your paws with some napkins for your glutteny. Their SWEET POTATO FRIES ARE AMAZING w/ their special sauce. Pork chops are yummy as well. There 16 st is awesome, sad to see they closed their 6th ave locaton we had just discovered.

Delicious
I came here with my boyfriend the other night. He had the BLT, I had the Thanksgiving on a Roll. Everything was great, my only complaint was that my sandwich did not come on ciabatta, as on the menu. The portions are very large...next time we'll have to save room for dessert...

Yum Yum
I LOVE chat n' chew, my boyfriend and I go here all the time. Their mac and cheese is delicious. It's my favorite dish here. Uncle red's addiction is very tasty as well. And you can't forget about dessert. Their cupcake cake is to die for.

Poor Service, Tastey Food
The food is great! Just like your mother used to make, everything tastes like home cookin'. The service is horrible though. If you order delivery sometimes they lose your order and you end up calling an hour later to ask where it is. Inside the restaurant is basically the same. You should give it a try though for the food because it is absolutely great. I recommend the Turkey Supper and Uncle Red's Addiction.
