Cozy and comfy
Great place. Just ate there today. Loved the atmosphere, it was very laid back but the service was excellent. All the dishes tasted great and reminded me of home cooked comfort food. I recommend the mac and cheese and pies!

Crowded but delicious!!
I came with two girl friends. Started with sweet potatoe fries and potatoe skins and nachos as appetizers. We then shared the Mac and Cheese. The portion size is great, we were getting quite full. The Mac and Cheese is good. I finished the meal with their Malibu coconut nut-YUM. I want to go back for their fried chicken, it looked amazing when the waitress brought it to the people next to us. Overall, good price and delicious!! It gets quite crowded and noisy though.

wonderful comfort food
this place is amazing! my aunt showed me it and it's seriously my favorite restaurant. they have great mac&cheese and mashed potatoes/fries.

I try to go everytime I visit the City
Some friends and I found the chat n' chew during a visit to the city. We were hoping to find an inexpensive hole in the wall that had GREAT food. That is just what we found. They make better southern food than any place I have found down south (I live in Mississippi). Everytime I visit the city I try to go and everytime I show someone around the city I take them to try it out. So far everyone has loved it. I am about to go for another trip to the city with family and will be taking them to give it a try.

Not impressed
The decor was cute if kitchy. However, I went with somewhat of a big group (about 8), and they took forever to take our orders, at times asking only one person at time for their drink order. They then brought me the wrong drink. The food was ok. But at the end of the meal, they whisked away our plates as soon as we put our forks down, and asked us to leave! Some of us weren't even done with our drinks! We felt it was a place to chew and get the hell out, rather than a place to enjoy the atmosphere and have a nice conversation.

Scrumptious comfort food
Delicious comfort food especially the fish tacos. A good place to enjoy a simple American meal. The decor is funky but that is what makes this place so unique.

Feel right at home!
This place is one of the best comfort food joints in NYC. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed with lots of eye candy and memorabilia on the walls. I have been there countless times over the past year and have never been disappointed. When the butternut squash soup is on special, you MUST have it! The pork chops are always moist and cooked just right. The sweet potato french fries are the item that brings me back again and again! The severs have always been great, but the hostess needed a serious attitude adjustment. Overall, a FANTASTIC place to relax and have good eats!
