Went in yesterday with a friend for dinner, we've been here a few times before. Upon entering, the place was pretty empty for 7PM on a Friday night. We looked at the menu and realized that most of the items are now gone, there's no more pot pie or meatloaf, just a more limited selection. We decided to both go with a burger with bacon and cheese and a diet coke each. The burger took more than 20 mins. and they shaped it small and high so it makes eating it very difficult without having it fall apart and make a big mess. When we were finished, we asked for the check and our server "forgot" and we waited 15 mins until another server came over to us and asked what was wrong. So we finally got the check and to our surprise 2 burgers with 2 drinks the total came out to $42.00. I don't mind paying for good food and service, but when you lack both, I guess it's time to move on and never come back. So disappointed!

Went for brunch. Although crowded the place was not packed. The hostess was extremely unorganized, not friendly and had no idea what was going on. Once finally seated the service was horrible. We had to wait 20. Minutes to get water and had to ask numerous times for the check. Food was fine but we will not be going back

I was very excited to take my friends to the Chat n Chew for lunch on Labor Day. The menu looked great. The decor is super neat and the place seemed very inviting. I just can't help but say, man was I disappointed! We had a table of 5 and the place was absolutely packed. Our sweet waitress was overwhelmed because she had SO many tables to tend to. Because of this, our service was poor. Our food took 45 minutes to arrive and my huevos rancheros looked like and tasted like it had been microwaved. All at my table said it was not worth returning to. The management needs to step up and properly staff and the food has potential, but $10 for a frozen veggie burger? Get on it. Your restaurant is in Union Square, NYC. People want fresh food and spectacular service and they deserve it.

It's a great first choice and occasionally a great fallback position when I have a lunch guest today. My family members who don't live here know it like they know the plane or train that gets 'em here, and they all love "Chat 'n Chew," the name and the restaurant. Nice menu, and on a recent visit when I wasn't up to my "usual," our great (and great-looking) waitress asked if I'd tried the BLT lately. I hadn't, and when it came, it was even better than she promised!

First time at this restaurant and although the prices are a bit high, I was impressed by the Starters we had ordered: Fried Oysters, Sweet Potato Fries and Chicken Wings. They were not overly greasy or salty and had plenty of flavor. The Chicken Pot Pie (which was listed on the white board) was 9" in diameter and was delicious. I ate it all including the thin flaky crust. I would order this again!

I am not a picky eater, but everything we ordered was blah. We had chicken fingers, fries, mac n cheese, and a cheeseburger. It doesn't get more standard than that, but every single item was tasteless and not delicious in the least. I ate it because I was hungry, but don't you hate when you have a really unsatisfying meal? That was what happened, and it was made worse because everything was bad, there wasn't one good thing. Even the apple juice was starting to ferment and we had to ask for a new one. The service was fine, no complaints there, but the food was just disappointing. Will NOT be going back.
