They're supposedly open till 11, so we walked in at 10:15pm and was rudely refused to be seated. Good job, you just lost a customer who's been ordering from you for over 10 years.

my favorite "Pan fried Noodle with Pork." This dish is one of the greatest ...I've been going to Charlie Mom over 30years.. Almost going there once a week still not getting tired of it. Thank you.

After reading the survey in Sunday's New York Times about the plight of most Chinese food delivery men, I was disturbed at the minced tips given out. Delivering Chinese food is actually harder and takes more effort than waiting on a table, and they sometimes only receive 2 bucks after racing through snow, rain, heat or hail. So the article made me have a yen for Chinese. I opened the menu and ordered things I had never ordered before: assorted flavor soup, and House Special #5 Almond Suan Pien, with scallops, pork, mushrooms and snow peas. It came so fast, I didn't even have the plates out yet! The food was scrumptious. The soup was amazing and a meal in itself, with pork, shrimp, chicken, bamboo, mushrooms. I gave the delivery man $5 and we both felt great. Charlie Mom simply cannot be beat for flavor, freshness, choice and service. The prices reflect that, and it's totally worth it. As for the salt content, the broth was not as salty as wonton soup, and very delicious. The Cabbage and Bean Curd soup is also very good. Altogether, you cannot go wrong with Charlie Mom. Tip well, and it will add to the euphoria of each bite.

We order a take-out dinner about once a month, often the same two entrees -- but recently they have been different each time. Sometimes they are good, other times tasteless. One of the entrees on our latest order was Chicken in Black Bean Sauce, which used to have broccoli as its secondary ingredient. But this time it had very little broccoli and an enormous amount of green pepper. I stopped in at the restaurant and told the manager about the inconsistent ingredients. He was barely civil and told me that if I wanted more broccoli, I could request it when I placed my order, at an extra charge of either $1 or $1.50 -- I was so angry that I have forgotten the exact amount. My reply was that we'll be ordering from another restaurant in the future!

So many complaints on this site, I felt I had to speak up. I'm a regular here, for lunch and dinner, and I enjoy coming at off hours when it isn't crowded and I can sit and read a book before and after eating. I order steamed chicken or shrimp with vegetables w/ brown sauce on the side. They're very accommodating with special requests. When I can spare the calories, I order sauteed pork and broccoli with honey walnuts, but it still has a light touch. No aftertaste with these dishes. Their wines are good too. The dining room has tablecloths at dinner, which is pretty nice for a Chinese restaurant. I've seen celebrity authors and musicians here.
