I've been looking for a chinese restaurant uptown to match that of Au Madarin and I found it! I ordered their shrimp lo mein and house special fried rice and it was delicious. Not to mention my delivery was about 15 minutes after I called. Only issues are I don't feel I got enough shrimp in either the lo mein or fried rice and they charged me a delivery fee which would have been fine if they said so in advance.

This restaurant has moved over the years, but that hasnt changed the place a bit. At Charley Mom, you are greeted by the nisest people, the food is delish but the only thing gone wrong, is the scenery and space. Charley Mom is very well known for its food but not for its atmosplere, a tight space and few tables kills half of the whole deal.

I have ordered the same dish 3x and each time it is different. WHY? first time it was with white sauce, second time with brown sauce, 3rd time it had no noodles and different vegetables. And talk about greasy....holy crap the oil and grease overtook the food. Geez....we work real hard for our money in NYC dont we?? Is it too much to ask on the one night you dont want to cook that you can get a good meal??

Whether you are eating there or ordering for delivery, don't pay until you have done the math yourself. Also, the appetizers were not good - the shrimp fritters tasted like fried flour balls. The main courses were decent.

We live only a couple of blocks away but I swear it always gets there in 10 min or less...our joke is that they cook on the food on their bike on the way over. My girlfriend likes the sesame chicken and I have enjoyed all the entrees, espeically the pork and shrimp lo meins. Good food, not great, pretty good pricing, incredibly fast service...making it above average for a chinese takout place.

the food was not good. Like some of the other reviews said, the workers are the friendliest i've ever talked to. Unfortunately, this might be the worst chinese food I've tasted on the UES. It was only the 2nd time in my life I ordered something, took 2 bites, and couldn't eat anymore.

Solid, great food everytime! When we order Chinese food it'll definitely be from here...we don't need to try another. Great taste, not oily and fresh ingredients. For years we've been eating their food, but have never really been to the restaurant. We love Charlie Mom!!!
