The food was very good and the service was almost too atentive, if there is such a thing. Over all a good experience.

Over the past couple of years, I have found that the food is much better if you dine-in, in comparison to delivery. I love pad thai which is always great when we eat there. However, it is not very good when we get delivery. The staff is attentive and nice.

Have been going here for lunch for a couple of years now since I work in the area and absolutely love their food. I went this past weekend with my husband and had the vegetarian thai dumplings (like nothing else I've had at a Thai place), the Pad Thai, and Shrimp with garlic sauce. Everything was excellent, especially the dumplings. I think this is a special item so I don't know if it's served on a regular basis.

We took my Aunt to Chanpen for her birthday dinner after reading the reviews here. The reviews didn't lie. The food was wonderful, not greasy or heavy. The pad thai was amazing, as were the two specials we had: seabass and salmon. The dinner was also pretty affordable. $100 for 4 meals and 4 drinks (alcoholic). The environment is nothing grand but it is somewhat authentic feeling and the restaurant is very clean. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting great thai meal at a great price.

I don't get all the rave reviews here. My fella and I ordered delivery from this place the other night, based on all the brouhaha posted here. Delivery was quick enough, but only one set of chopsticks was included, which was a letdown since we were in a hotel (fella from outta town) and the room didn't come with its own sticks. We had special requests for the food, which were accommodated (we're vegan), but the food itself? Staggeringly mediocre. We ordered Tofu Tod, Sauteed Vegetarian Duck, and Pad Thai, the last of which I always use as my barometer of how good the rest of the food will be. Well, let me tell you -- it did not pass the test. While it did come without egg (as requested), it did not come with crushed peanut. It was bland, as was the Sauteed Vegetarian Duck. The Tofu Tod was decent, though, even if my charming companion thought the chunks were too large. But really, it's kinda hard to screw up Tofu Tod. All in all, this was a disappointment. Sorry, Chanpen, but we won't be chompin' with you again.

What a pleasure it was to dine at this wonderful restaurant. It is both reasonable and the food is great value for the money. The service is also friendly and nice. The place was clean even the bathrooms were well maintained. I recommend highly and cannot wait for a return trip. Great theatre district restaurant.
