My father and I were wandering around China Town trying to find the right shop to purchase some rice bowls when we decided to take a break and get some dinner. I saw Chanoodle and thought "Hmmm, some good noodles would be nice." So we decided to get our meal there. Once inside we realized how borderline hole-in-the-wall it was but determined to get a meal we stayed and were pleasantly surprised. Firstly the waitress gave us tea, not water, to start off with, and it was served in a large hard-plastic cup, odd yes, but the tea was great. In the end we did not get noodles but we shared the veggie spring rolls, I got the sesame chicken and my father got the shrimp and dried salted fish fried rice. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal that was delivered quickly and steaming hot. The place was rather empty but the prices were great. The only thing I would suggest this restaurant changes would be it's atmosphere, it reminds me vividly of the tiny take-out only Chinese food places even though it has plenty of space. overall it was great and right off of canal!

I went there with my daughter and really enjoyed the food. However, the waitress was MIA for quite a long time and the other two waitresses weren't much help. It's a shame because I really wanted to try the Mango Pudding but was so disgusted with the service that I decided to pay the check and get the heck out of there.

I've eaten here a few times at the request of a friend, and I can't help feeling "cheated" each time I leave. Average food (if you can find something on the oddball menu that appeals to you at the time of your visit), and very small portions for the money. Sometimes the food has arrived cold. Service is erratic, but the place is clean.

We went here for lunch one day, and thought the food was acceptable (though you could do SO much better in this neighborhood). But the service sucked like no other, though the restaurant was mostly empty. I would walk around a bit more next time, and try someplace else.

Good price, good food, good portions. Try the fried rice, best I ever had!

I am chinese-american and decided against my better instincts to give this place a try. we ordered shrimp with lobster sauce which tasted very fishy, so their shrimp was obviously not fresh. it was watery and bland. the other dish was ma po tofu, which was passable and much better than the seafood dish. the hot and sour soup was equally unmemorable.

Fantastic! Wonderful! Try the "house special" and "three sausages" fried rice. The egg rolls are fantastic and the service is great... Go for it! Chanoodle yourself.
