    Great sesame bagels!

I feel lucky to have Champignon just a couple of blocks away. I love their bagels, especially the sesame and poppyseed ones-they are far more flavorful and chewy than most bagels you find in the city. I prefer a toasted bagel at Champignon to a fresh one at H&H! You have to know what to order. Some of the sandwiches are great; some of them, esp. some of the paninis, are mediocre. Some cookies are good, although most of the more elaborate baked goods look very unappetizing to me. Obviously, they don't bake anything there, and some of their suppliers are better than others. Overall, an excellent little spot to get a quick lunch.

    Good but needs improvements

The telephones are always out of order and the phone rings hundreds of times before anyone answers. Poor service..very slow!

    ehhh bagels

i've gotten their bagels quite a number of times now, usually whole wheat with cream cheese. most of the time, the bagel is alright, but is usually overtoasted so that the hardened shell threatens to cut the roof of my mouth. i've also gotten a few dry and stale versions too, so definitely this should not be your go to place for great bagels. on the other hand, their sandwiches seem decent and their coffee not bad.

    Super friendly and great food!

I've been going to champignon for lunch for over a year. It's two blocks away from my school, which is really convenient. The sandwiches are delicious as well as the soups, and most of their hot dishes. Recently, I left my bag there accidentally after eating lunch, and when I came to look for it the next day, it was still there! The cashiers had found it and placed it on the counter with my student ID card (which was in my wallet) so I could claim it. The people there are great and always have a smile on when taking your order (:
