my favorite thai spot
the place is small but the good food for the price is enough. I have been there in times with a large group and the food did not come out at the same time but you get what u pay for. If you request that the food come out together I am sure they will accommodate. It seems like a family owned place, with good people who have good hearts and good food. I love this place and hope it stays how it is.

Good, but less authentic
Was at Chai Thai tonight for a meal, just passed it on the sidewalk and decided on the spur of the moment to pop in. It was quite busy, nice decor, smallish place. Table seating a bit tight. Menu was modified Thai with various other influences definitely not authentic Bangkok or Chiang Mai or Hat Lek cuisine. Could have been more spicy, but then again I eat Bangkok style food that would make most of the folks I know call 911. We had the ginger fish and some kind of fried wrapped seafood things called 'golden wrappers' or some such - I was not impressed with those at all. The tom yum was good, but my wife didn't care for it. The ginger fish was cooked properly and had a good balance of sourness to it. The rice was dry and not a good jasmine rice. I guess I've just been spoiled by too many meals at five star restaurants in Bangkok...overall, a nice meal, good value, but not what I would call authentic Thai.

Awesome Thai!
The thai food is excellent. I highly recommend the veggie peanut dumplings. If you're looking for a good priced Thai food in the W50s, this is the place.

subpar service
the food was great. the restaurant was cute. the prices were excellent. but the service was the pitts. there were 5 ppl in our party and all our food was served at a different time. not like 5 min apart like 20. they also forgot part of our order. when everything arrived it was great, but the staff needs to get it together.

Good food
The food was good. Prices were great and the actual owner came up to our table and gave us great suggestions on what to eat. They were very efficient and accomodating. Nice place. Only problem was the restaurant is very small. Tables are pushed together and it feels a little cramped, but overall..great place

It's pure ambiance, the food is Decent.
This place has the look and feel down, it's great. The food though, is about as good as any of the other average Thai places in the neighborhood. The service is decent, but the tables are pushed close together, and there is very limited seating. Expect a wait during busy hours and weekends. The prices aren't bad pretty standard so give it a try, and I think you'll probably agree on the mediocrity. Enjoy!

Very solid choice for lunch or dinner
I stopped in for lunch alone on a visit to the City, and experienced highly efficient service and extremely fresh food. The portions were generous and the flavor in my chicken pad thai was spot-on. I did have a little bit of difficulty finding the place it's right on the corner, but its entrance is small with no big sign that I could see but don't be fooled into thinking it's closed or less excellent than the reviews would tell. I'm glad I made a double loop around the intersection, as it's definitely not one to pass over.
