    Could use improvement

Food was great, service was just ok. Found the staff to have a real attitude. Like the music and booths, but would probably not return.

    Love It!

I would like to counter the vegetarian's review! She's posting on every restaurant review site. I've been here a number of times and mentioned her review to the management, who was aware of it. They told me she became most angry when her "meated" plate showed up on the bill, even though the dish was not returned and the plate went back to the kitchen, empty. There's one in every crowd. Lovely place, solid, consistently good food, nice atmosphere.

    Management issues

I went to this restaurant and it was not good. They put bacon on my plate and I am a strict vegetarian. Then, the management had the nerve to laugh about it and say it wasn't a big deal. It is a big deal when I specifically said I don't eat meat for religious reasons. I've never quite had that experience before. The place is incredibly overpriced, smells like smoke, and is quite frankly, not worth any amount of money. Please avoid--there are better restaurants that warrant these prices.

    With the accent!

I just discovered Cercle Rouge! As soon as you sit down, you feel warmer inside. The jazzy music, the incredible French bartender, the candlelight and then the food... The experience was so great that I wanted to come back the next day. I loved everything I ate (the staff knows their food, always giving advice), but liked especially the Cassoulete, the Veal Kidneys in Porcini sauce and the Fish. You should try it next time it's really cold or when you feel a little down. Take a stool at the bar, ask for the menu and you will see.

    Finally Value

I have lived in Tribeca a long time and i was so happy to see Cercle Rouge open last year a beautiful looking French bistro just what the neighbourhood needed,Unfortunatly at the beginning it was over priced and not value for money so i decided to stay away for a few months,so deciding to revisit after hearing good reports,i decided to have dinner with my best friend and boy has it changed. The menu was simple but effective, the food was fantastic, real value for money, the staff were very friendly from the maitre d to the bus boy, it was just a pleasure to have such a good time.Watch out Cercle Rouge you will be seeing alot more of me.

    Service? what service

The food, while expensive, is tasty when finally it arrives. They even have a kid's menu - but making kids wait an hour for the food without even an offer of an extra glass of wine for mommy sort of defeats the purpose of offering pasta and chicken fingers for the little ones.

    Not recommended

We went for Sunday Brunch. The food took an hour to arrive and looking around, it seemed like we weren't the only ones. We felt dissatisfied after the meal. With all the dishes, other than eggs and potatoes which seemed the right amount, the rest of the dish was skimpy. The crab benedict had little to no crab and you had to dig around in the huevos rancheros to spot a spec of chorizo. It was basically two eggs on home fries with some sauce thrown on top.
