    Neighborhood repeat

We are neighbors of this restaurant and eat here at least once a week. The food is consistently good and the waiters friendly and attentive. The chef has perfectly seasoned all of the dishes that we have tried, delicious mussels, the onion tart is quite tasty, and the steak frites perfect every time. The chicken wings appetizers are over the top. e enjoy the brunch as well, especially the wafffles, and are so happy that Circle Rouge chose our neighborhood.

    Not worth a second try

Was disappointed with the service, and the food. Really wanted this to be a staple since I live and work in the 'hood, but it just isn't worth a second try. Waiter did not even bother to check up on us, refill our water, etc. Bland food and over-salted entree. Salad was borderline inedible. Pricey too. Overall, it is too bad. The spot itself is nice.

    Bistro in tribeca

This is what the neighborhood needed. The foie gras is awesome. Everyday its different. my favorite so far had watermelon with it. The filet mignon was great so is the steak sandwich. Has outside seating also. You wont be disappointed Oh yeah, and the wait staff speak french.

    A Treat!

I love to go to this place! True, sometimes the service has been slow, but not infuriatingly so. They have always been friendly, though. The food has been excellent every time I've been there, and the portions have been considerable. I've had wonderful bouillabaisse, raviolis, steaks, foie gras with peaches, and other various things over the past year, all delicious. I've been there as part of a business crowd, a girls' night out, and have taken my parents there, and it's been a hit every time. I love the ambiance, a very sultry dark red, and there's a not-too-big, but interesting bar scene. There have been times when I wished we could mosy on over to the bar after dinner, rather than meet at the bar and then go to dinner... note to self for next time...

    Not recommended

I live down the block and I really want to like this place, but alas. It's such a great spot, but the blah food and annoying staff make this a strictly B&T and uptowner spot. It's a minor miracle they've lasted this long.

    Overpriced, lacks anything unique

I actually went to Cercle Rouge with a friend of mine who is a restaurant reviewer--he was "off duty," but we popped in since it was located close to our homes and we just wanted a quick bite. He had the steak frites I believe and I had the chicken. My chicken was dry and tasteless--his steak was overcooked. Our wine was warm, that icky warm that you get when a bottle was accidentally left in the sun at a picnic. We asked for new glasses of wine and were charged for them--despite returning full glasses. The bread was crunchy and hurt my teeth (Just got off invisalign and you can imagine my horror of almost breaking a front tooth). All-in-all, I was disappointed and so was my friend.

    Never has the full package...

Eaten here a few times and I have had decent meals but I have also had really lax service at times (i have also had competent service). The food is good without being spectacular but the problem comes if you have a guy sipping vin rouge throughout service and is not too bothered about his tables. They just need to be a touch more consistent but they are definitely improving from when they first opened...love the jock with the faux french accent!
