Great food in a pricey neighborhood
I eat here about once a week or so...if you go on the early side before the tourists from the Met invade then it is great although always a little cramped. Service has been hit or miss but is much better as of late. Quality of the food is always excellent and many dishes are the same that are available upstairs at the pricier restaurant. Always get the soup no matter what it is and the polenta/kale appetizer is the best. For dessert the cookie plate with chocolate dipping sauce is always great. Gnocchi also very good as it the asparagus and egg panini with proscuitto. Prices are surprisingly mild too...a great quick lunch spot.
