good first date, everything else a disaster
I went online and found this place that looked pretty cool. I get to this place to meet my date and it was like 30 degrees inside. I ordered this grilled octopus which was like a piece of rubber and appeared to be staring back at me. The olives tasted like they just came out of a meat locker. The pizza was ok but was thinner than my fingernail. The wine selection was really limited and you could definitely forget about service with a smile. I will never go back here.

OK but there are definetly better
We very much enjoy wine bars and tapas bars so decided to try Cello. The wine was consistently delicious. We got the mushroom and the fig pizzas. These were just ok, the dough regular bread like and tasteless. The combination of flavors promissed to be delicious but was lacking. Just ok, there is definetly better tapas and wine bars.

Very Impressed
Went there with a friend during a week. The vibe is amazing, low light, candles, rustic nyc brick wall, has a French-Italian thing going. The wine was good, as you would expect it to be in a wine bar. The food was 5 stars. Artesian fresh made pizza and pork empanada (corzone) with onions and goat cheese was over the top. Definitely a place you would take a date to, a quite, at least during the week, intimate and delicious. + very friendly staff.

cozy place to chill...
My boyfriend and I have been here several times and love it. The chef is amazing in that little tiny back kitchen, and when one of the salads were sold out he created something even better for us. The shrimp pizza is to die for. We love the wine and the owner is charming and a wonderful host. Will probably go back there tonight!

Just what midtown needed.
Cello is a cozy, well priced wine bar tucked away in Midtown, Eastside. Went here with a friend of mine the other night and the owner waited us. Great pours of wine. I didn't try to the food but am looking forward to it.

Kudos to Cello A+
A couple of my friends brought me to Cello last week and I found the place to be terrific. As luck would have it, the owner was tending bar and the service could not have been better. The gourmet pizza and cheese plate we ordered, were not only delicious, but were presented beautifully. The wine selection was brilliant and well balanced. The music was great and allowed for conversation. Two of us had the Chenin Blanc which was heaven in a glass. I can't recommend this wine bar enough. We all left very happy and are looking forward to many returns.

Fun and Yum
The place is tiny, has a nice, chill, bar atmosphere. The chef is a very nice guy--brought us our food himself. The second time my girlfriend and I went he remembered she was allergic to nuts and adjusted all her dishes without a word. There's a nice selection of wine, but the food--especially the panini and pizza--were surprisingly tasty.
