The food was okay, but the service was awful. The owner is racist. Please do not justify his behavior by eating at his restaurant. My jewish friend and I, a Korean American, were denied dessert after we had ordered appetizers, entrees, and a bottle of wine. The owner said that we had already been there for one hour and that there were people waiting. There was no one waiting and there were at least two empty table around us. Also, since when is it not appropriate to spend an hour at a supposedly nice restaurant for dinner? He proceeded to force us out of the restaurant saying that he did not want to hear what we had to say. This has been a humiliating and saddening experience. To think that there are still such ignorant people existing in such a diverse city as New York makes me sick.

I ordered the gnocchi and my friend ordered the ravioli and they were both to die for! It was the freshest Italian meal I've had in NYC. We ordered the cheese plate for dessert which I would highly recommend since the charming owner explains each cheese and flavors they are paired best with. It was Saturday night and we had to wait about 15 minutes but it was well worth it. So affordable too!

My husband and I are so happy a friend told us about Celeste a few years ago. We go there at least once a month and love it! You won't get a better meal at a better value in the city. They could charge much more but don't. The owner is friendly and makes an effort to get to know his patrons. Our favorite restaurant in the city....even above our fine-dining favorites! No wonder it is always packed! That's a good sign!

The place is super cramped. I went with my boyfriend and we had people sitting pretty much right next to us, right behind us, right in front. Poor in the sense that they try to take advantage of every little nook in the spot. We ordered pizza and the one with basil was our favorite. The food was good but I don't know if I would go back because its pretty much uncomfortable to have people on top of you. I would do take out.

Expect to wait at least 20 minutes and than receive a table that rocks, jammed up to people on both sides of you. The owner is very annoying running around the cramped restaurant trying to moves tables asap while collecting payment from patrons. You can tell he's more concerned about making money than having an enjoyable dining experience for his patrons. The waiters are also very annoying with heavy spanish accents who will ask you a dozen times "want more wine, dessert" etc if you say no expect the bll shoved in your face.

This place by far is my favorite Italian restuarant in the city. Very Authentic Italian food and absolutely delicious..From appetizers to dessert, you can't go wrong. It's a cramped table setting, but it is sure worth it. Go and try it, I promise you wont be disappointed!!

My girlfriend and I tried Celeste and we loved it. The menu is simple but all the food was wonderful. We split a salad, pizza, pasta plate with baby clams and a bottle of wine. Everything was great, and we left full, satisfied and looking forward to a return visit. We went early and were seated promptly, and the service was attentive. Looking around its easy to imagine that it gets pretty crowded and cramped as the night goes on. So if you want to avoid a wait and a crammed restaurant, arrive early. And don't forget to hit the ATM, as its cash only.
