This is our FAVORITE Spot on the UWS

This is my go-to spot when I just want an incredible meal, be it Take-out or Dine-In! If you want to be happy, order the Margherita Pizza to start, then split the Spaghetti Alle Vongole & Pollo Mandorlato (be sure to squirt the lemon over the chicken and eat the chicken with the salad, it's superb!) You can't lose with this option!

Good food, not so good service

Food was good, not brilliant, but tasty. The service on the other hand was patronising and rushed. The waiters are in need of waiter school or finding another occupation where they don't have to deal with the public. Please remember this is part of the dining out experience. Unless the food is outstanding you need to improve on the service, then I am sure these reviews will improve, as really - the food is good.

    Poor Service

We waited outside for over 30 minutes, were seated practically on top of other customers, had a decent two course dinner with a good inexpensive bottle of wine. The second my fork went down, the table was clear and the bill presented which my husband paid immediately. We wanted to finish our wine, maybe five more minutes. The owner came over and clearly nudged us to leave which we did. We had spent $100. and were back on the sidewalk within 1 hour. There are plenty of comparable places in NY where you will not be treated so rudely.

I had one of their "homemade" pasta dishes which was adequate (too much garlic, small portion, otherwise fairly good). For average quality food I was forced to be practically on the lap of the people sitting next to me and was the recipient of rude, condescending service. I have lived in NYC since 2008 and this was my worst UWS dining experience since moving here.

    Just Average

I don't know what the fuss is about. Its eatable food but the service is sub-standard.

    Beware the spinach strings!

A lovely warm welcome followed by 4 requests to take our order while we sought to simply savor our before dinner drink. Could the server have been paid by the table turnover? Feeling the pressure we ordered. Delightful hot and crisp large french fries described as roasted potatoes. Steamed spinach could very well have spelled my doom had i not chewed for several minutes to pulverize. Any nearby local supermarket could have offered a more tender harvest. No one sought to know if we enjoyed our meal. Beware the spinach. Table knife inadequate to cut the tough stringy stems.

This may have been the most disappointing dining experience I have ever had in NY. The glasses and silverware were dirty, the service was rude and small substitutions such as shape of pasta would not be accommodated. The tables were so crammed in and the noise level was so loud you could not even carry on a conversation with the person across from you. There is a reason all they can charge is 10 dollars for their pasta which was tasteless and overcooked.
