Great value for sushi
My partner and i came here for the sushi which apparently they have only been serving since September. We had two appetizers from the main menu to start - both were fab.....fresh ingredients, great quality and simple. The Steak Tartar which i had was so good - esp with the truffle oil. The smoked trout salad was also lovely. We then ordered the chefs choice of sushi, sashimi and 1 maki - which was v. impressive. The quality of fish was high, the presentation was beautiful and unique; and at $37 a great deal and enough for the both of us - if this was served at somewhere else you'd be paying more than twice as much! We didn't try the caviar but if the dining experience we had is anything to go by, it will be very good. The night we went it was empty but it was passover, easter and tax week all in one go - and actually it was nice to have the place to ourselves! The decor is old world grande, but intimate - Oh and don't be put off by the fact you have to buzz the door in order to be let in! Good for a romantic date, or a smart dinner with family.
