an average experience
This was not the special experience I look for on a visit to New York city. The tables are packed pretty closely. Both my daughter and I are fairly thin and we couldn't get into the bench without a tight squeeze. My friend in the seat across was disrupted by the man sitting at an adjacent chair while eating. Service was not particularly attentive. I had to wait for hot tea. I thought my caprese salad would be more than caprese but it wasn't. The food was decent but not noteworthy.

Uh-Mazing
You know you're in the right place when you walk into an Italian restaurant and hear people speaking Italian. They seem to treat their employees right, which in turns means staff treats the patrons right. The food is to die for. I highly recommend the pappardelle with roast duck. It was the bomb-diggity. And the cannellini bean appetizer with shrimp was unique and delicious. Price-wise, it wasn't bad at all-- we got 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, a beer, and two coffees for under a hundred bucks-- with a 20% tip. This was my first visit, but definitely won't be my last!

Can't go wrong
Great food, great service, great prices, and a lively atmosphere. Pastas are mostly freshly made and served in appetizer sizes (as well as full size) making it fun/easy to share.

Molto Buona!
It's very good. Go every week. Owner is very nice and the food is great. Pasta, steak, salads, wines, and great types of bread.

Wonderful pastas and wine values, too
We eat here way too much as we are in the neighborhood. The place is lovely, and everyone is very nice, if sometimes distracted. The food is uniformly extremely good, and some of the pastas are really extraordinary. Appetizer portions are available of each, and since some are very rich, this is more than enough. The wine values are terrific, and with very nice cheese parings and a place of salamis you can have a great light meal. The cheese and chocolate fondues are also each delicious, and the pear almond tart is a real find. We always take guests here and they all love it.

Going Local
Good place to go with friends or take relatives visiting from out of town for a casual local dinner. Busy on Friday nights or when the weather is nice and can get a little noisy so call ahead for seating. And if you want quieter, ask for the corner table inside. Service is very pleasant. Portions are generous. Varied enough menu to appeal to different tastes.

lunch
We wanted a lovely lunch near the guggenheim and liked this menu. A very rainy day and a bit of a walk but well worth it! So many overpriced NYC restaurants and this was so reasonable priced. I enjoyed a wonder super tuscan for $9 a glass! We were the only ones there for most of our meal but our server was greaT. And the choclate fondue was perfect! Thanks.
