Not recommended
Went here once, had a bad experience. Went again today to give it another try and it was still disappointing First sign this place is a mess: We sat down at our table, and I asked the waitress what dishes are their specialties. She replied, "None." I thought she misunderstood and so I asked again, " what do you recommend?" "Nothing," she said. That was the beginning of our meal. Aside from various people walking out on their checks disappointed in their food, lots of mixups and a stubborn staff, the food is just plain weird. When you order a vegetable omelet, you receive a plain omelet on a plate with sauteed vegetables piled next to it. A woman sitting next to me got into an audible argument with the waitress in which the waitress tried to convince her that her salad was made with Goat's cheese, when in fact is was clearly Blue Cheese. It was almost humorous, but the waitress stuck to her guns and caused a scene about something that was clearly the restaurants fault. Furthermore, what chef/waitress cant see the difference between blue and goat cheese? That alone is a sign that this place is all sorts of confused. I ordered a turkey wrap that was made with Ham instead, when i inquired about it, the waitress told me it was a "special kind of turkey that looks like ham". Totally suspect. Totally inappropriate. And absolutely the poorest customer service i've ever experienced. What can I say-- don't go here. Ever.

thankfully unpretentious
Great food, simply made, at a good value. Seriously hearty servings (esp the salads) and great fresh juices (including veggie juices). I love the menu here and unlike other Dekalb joints, this place just serves it up without the help of interior decorators, graphic designers and all the other fancy stuff. Also great if you have kids. If you want a healthy good value meal, this is the place, if you want the hip factor, go elsewhere.

Cozy
My boyfriend & I walked around our neighborhood in search for a brunch spot, every place was full until we came upon Catherine's Caffe. we were seated right away. they had a special with a soup free mimosa. unfortunately no champagne by the time we arrived 12:45pm. No biggie we had the mint lemonade, it was refreshing. I overall loved my meal so did my boyfriend. I found a great new spot to go to.

Excellent except service
Great food, not-so-great service. They need to hire some nice work staff.

Disappointing Experience
I tried Catherine's, looking for a comfortable, laidback atmosphere. However, the service was really bad and I will never be returning. The waitress was inflexible and unable to communicate with us about menu items and options. The kicker came when I found a piece of soemthing in my food, informed the waitress - and was then told it was simply a salmon bone and ignored completely. I never received an apology, a comped meal and was blatantly told that I was wrong about my discovery. The entire experience was wretched.

Great brunch
Last weekend we decided to have brunch with my family in Catherine's Caffe and I must say that we all were very impressed. The restaurant was almost full but we were seated right away. Their menu has a great selection of brekfast and lunch items so it took us a while to place an order. We all had their homemade soups as an appetizer and how delighted we were. We could tell it was homemade. For entree we ordered omeletes and my omelet with salmon was the best omelet I have ever had. After we finished our meal we ordered desserts to share and they were to die for. Overall, we were very impressed with the food and service and look forward to our next visit.

Burgers to-go, delivered
I have no idea why, but most of what i've had on the menu kind of sucks.. but the burgers are fantastic! get it to go, i think it might be the best burger in town .. the service sucks however, and the price gets weird during brunch time ($8 apps? come on).
